The Pokeball Plus was disappointingly small. The attachment of this stand allows for the Pokeball to sit nicely in my large hands. A little oddly shaped, I will admit, but since I haven't been using it as I did for Let's Go, the amazing part of this stand is how very thematic it looks displaying the Pokeball. HORI always does a great job designing their products despite them usually being made of thinner plastic. A little disappointment on my end would be the permanently attached cord. I would have liked a USB-C port and a separate USB charging cable to future proof the charging stand allow custom length cables. Otherwise, pretty cool little display stand.
Item not what expected received plywood glass and pair of needle nose pliers thanks
I ordered this game a few years ago and understand I am not eligible for a refund but I just opened it and this game did not work. I tried to change regions and nothing. I don’t understand how this can be sold without any region information. I wish there was more I could do than right this review but here we are. Please do not buy this game and consider not buying other things from this seller. I really hope it was an honest mistake.
Arrived in great condition and everything's here. Mostly bought it for the artbook, but everything's here including the game! 10/10 would recommend.
Doom was the best game i ever played, but i spent $50 on a used doom game and did not the the case for the game why
I actually imported the Japanese one due to already having English Subs, similar to I am setsuna which is another fun game that's in the Japanese RPG genre so I would recommend checking that one out as well. I won't go too much in the story since this is the fifth game in the series, however if you are one that's on the fence about whether or not that the series is for you then I'll answer that. If you are into Fire Emblem or any sort of Japanese RPG games then I would recommend this one as well. If you're looking for a game that you want to put in a lot of hours to then I would recommend this one as well because this one has many hours and endless scenarios that you can engage yourself in in this game. Plus the best part is you can take it anywhere, go anywhere, play it anywhere on the Nintendo switch. Now answer the other question is if you need to have play the other games to understand this one. The answer is no. So you can engage yourself into playing this game and I believe this is a prequel. So that's a good start for you in the series. And if you haven't played the one on PS4 then again I would recommend this one as well. But just in case you're wondering about the storyline it's pretty simplistic. It's basically about the main character who teams up with another character in the series so I won't mention any names who try to take down the antagonist of the series called Lord dark. This game is also single player so don't expect any Secret of Mana or Co op as this is only available in single player mode. This a strategy RPG game. Might be stating the obvious but I figured I will least let you know. This game also support Pro Controller the joy Con's as well so keep that in mind. From when I played of it also that my only gripe about this is that there is no Auto Battle which I loved in the Fire Emblem series were basically if I wanted to grind my characters to level them up faster I would just put them in Auto and they can fight while I did something else so to me that is the downside to this game. Keep in mind I will not recommend this for kids as this is for teens so bear that in mind. There are some suggestive images in there but nothing too have to cover your eyes with or mature rated features. But in all it's a very fun game. It has some fun characters. A very anime vibe to it so if you're into anime then that's a plus for you. There's also a lot of humorous scenarios in here which I can't help but laugh when it comes to this series.
So this thing is designed to increase visual detail by interpreting frame data from your devices and adding to it. It also has a free anti-aliasing level given to anything passing through it (smoothing edges that have stair-stepping/jaggies/aliasing). Wow. I tried this thing out on all my 1080p and sub 1080p consoles, it really makes the content look much better on my TVs. The device only forces whatever native output resolution your TV tells it to (a 4k that doesn't natively support 1440p will only tell the device to go to 1080p). My smaller 1360X768 tv forces that instead of taking a 1080p image and downscaling it like it does with a PS4 signal. Your mileage may vary if your monitor or TV can force resolutions. Nonetheless, it's going to be whatever your TV natively supports that is 1440p or below that will be your maximum output. That said, I am very happy with this device. On my Switch, the upscaling of sub 1080p content and even 1080p content looks wonderful with the built in anti-aliasing making things look so much cleaner that I was able to boost the TV's sharpness of the image without getting visual noise (aka much better visual experience). This led to better visual clarity because the image was allowed to be less soft without becoming noisy or aliased. My 360 and PS3 that are hooked up to that smaller TV I mentioned look amazing even with the meagre "pixel boost". Heck even the PSTV I have hooked up to my 4k display looks so much better. Muramasa Rebirth and Killzone Mercenary have never looked this good. This is a good device for hardware of older resolution levels. Your returns diminish with higher resolution devices (I don't think an pass of extra anti-aliasing is worth the money on near 4K resolutions) but the sizeable visual upgrades (especially if you are a multi-console owner still plugging through old libraries) are well worth it. If you can get a low latency splitter, it spreads the love across any devices inputting without the need to buy individually for each device which is a nicety I wasn't expecting. I recommend it but make sure you understand what you are getting out of it and whether your usage scenario makes sense. Edit 09/10/22 - The photos I sent are pretty jumbled up so I am resubmitting them in a order that has the mclassic smoothed one first and the native image second. Keep in mind these are taken on a 4K tv where the image is outputting at 1080p with an anti-aliasing pass. Games with lower native resolution have a more perceivable difference and a 1440p monitor will get better results (have one on the way so I may repost thereafter). I am going to point out areas to look at to see the perceivable smoothness difference or sharper detail for those maybe not seeing the benefit. On BoTW Link: Observe the handle of the weapon over his right shoulder as well his bracer on his right arm where the transition between the pixels on link and the background are smoother. Also the texture detail on his shirt, the sheikah slate and other items has a clearer definition between colors and sharper edges. Super Kirby Clash Mage Kirby: Check out the area where Kirby's head reaches the hat or the lines of the star on the hat. The orb in his staff also has far less issues with the edges stairstepping. Though the textures are minimalist there is cleaner lines again on color changes on the hat or in the staff orb. Smash Bros Link: The Sheikah slate handle is remarkably smoother in image 05 (Mclassic) vs 06 (native). In images 07 and 08 notice how much more "serration" exists on Link's ear in 08 vs the 07 with Mclassic) These are a handful examples on my current setup, may update further. Edit 07/23/2023 Having used this for close to a year. I really appreciate what it does. Partciularly now that I have a 1440p monitor I use, this makes my Switch and Xbox 360 games look much, MUCH smoother with that 1440p upscale and anti-aliasing. I jump between these consoles and my PS5 and Series X and this has made the visual difference feel so much less jarring. 720p on Xbox 360 has been OK but now going back and playing Resident Evil titles for achievements on that console, it feels smooth, clean and very easy on the eyes. Switch gets a more minor upgrade but playing Tears of the Kingdom I have felt less impact from the dynamic resolution compared to friends of mine. What you get out of this requires a lot of understanding of the tech around it. 1080p and lower consoles benefit and if you have a monitor or TV with 1440p it will make an even bigger difference. Still highly recommend!
Game works but the case is busted pretty badly
Cute case! I’ve been wanting to get a carrying case for awhile. It holds everything! I especially love all of the game card spots. The are tight enough where I won’t have to worry about them sliding out. The cut out spots are tight too which is great to keep things from moving around. The only cons about it is the carrying strap not matching the case and the controller spot is very tight on the joysticks (pictured). I might try to cut the spot a little bigger. Other than that the case is great! The color is slightly different than the official Nintendo case (also pictured for comparison). The price is also fair compared to other similar cases. Definitely get it!
Nintendo does it again!!! I have it on my switch lite and I'm playing this just about every day and it is hand's down the best Pokemon game to date... 100% recommend
Going in to this game, I'd never played a Ys game before - let alone even heard of the series. That said, I really came to appreciate this game early on in my playthrough. I think the graphics and overall feel of this game work really well on the Switch, so much so that I'm actually glad I didn't pick this up for my Playstation 4 or PC, despite the game only running at 30 FPS for the Switch. Overall, it's just as fun in handheld mode as it is on the TV, and I did a near 50/50 split of both modes during my playthrough. Gameplay-wise, exploration is everything and I was really sold on the spirit of adventure this game has as you explore and meet other cast aways. The combat is pretty fun, though sometimes felt a bit simple and grindy compared to other games in this genre; that said, I really enjoyed the overall rhythmic feeling from combat in this game, and fighting always had a good pace. While the voice acting was solid, I did find quite a few typos in the dialogue that really hurt my immersion a bit and it's hard for me to have sympathy about something as easy to do as correct script errors. The soundtrack was really fun and was especially energetic during boss fights. The adventurer's version of the game came with some cool inserts - a map, some character cards, and a reversible cover (the cards were my favorite), and I really love it when games come with little things like this one did. Overall, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA is a fun game that I like a lot, but its lack of polish in some areas keeps me from truly loving it.
My son loves this! He was so excited to get this and enjoys the changing color. He can set it how he wants. Perfect buy for my gamer son!
Best pro controller option for the switch! I’ve always been a fan of the layout of the game cube controller. The controller has a very nice feeling to hand and actually I have found to be better to use in shooters like Doom than the pro controller (even has superior motion control support). I think the extra resistance on the analog sticks has a lot to do with it. The only thing that some people may not like is that the trigger buttons do you have a lot of travel before the tactile click that actuates them. Best way to work around it is to keep them depressed while holding the controller so that you just have to apply a little pressure to get past the bump at the end of the travel. It’s a shame that the switch doesn’t support progressive travel on their triggers because it would make these really ideal for racing games due to the immense amount of travel. The fact that this controller has all of the buttons needed to play any game, it’s not just limited to smash brothers. Another thing that makes this controllers superior to the pro controller and a lot of other third-party controllers is the fact that the plus, minus, picture, and home buttons or actually raised rather than flush with the face of the controller which makes them much easier to access. For games that require access to the menu on a regular basis having those buttons raised makes them far more accessible. The only downside is the lack of rumble , which for me is not a big deal but there are some games where it does play a part where I kind of miss it. Honestly I miss the weight of the rumble motors more than the rumble itself. This will actually replace my pro controller as my go to controller going forward, the only thing I might do to it to make it more well-rounded is to replace the C stick with the same analog stick as on the left side and while I have it open perhaps add something to the grips to give it a little more weight. Another great thing about these controllers which haven’t been mentioned a lot is the fact that, just like the enhanced controller that powera also makes, this is one of the few, if not the only third-party wireless controller for the switch that can actually turn on the switch with the menu button. Many others require you to use another controller to turn it on and then pair the controller. Every review that I’ve seen for this controller has commented on the fact that it takes batteries as a negative. As someone that has never had a problem with the Xbox still using batteries I have always had a drawer full of them so it’s no problem for me, the battery life is quite long however I don’t think the controller has any indicator when the battery is low and that would be the only downside in terms of the batteries. Since the switch controllers don’t use batteries it doesn’t register the battery level of this controller so as far as I can tell there’s no way to tell when the batteries are low. Overall, in my opinion, the best pro controller option for the switch to date. Why four stars you ask? Mainly because the picture in the description says that these are purple and really the color is blue or rather indigo, Definitely not even close to being purple ( see my pic of the comptroller next to a purple xbox one controller) But that aside, and absolutely fantastic controller!
