As soon as I knew these were going to be released I wanted them so bad! Luckily, I saw they were available on akiya-switch.com and got them immediately! They are awesome! I love eevee and it's evolutions. The controllers are fully functional, all the buttons work, the controllers are comfortable in my hands and they feel WAY better than the original joycons that come with the nintendo Switch. These are actually the second pair of Hori split pad compact controllers that I own (my first ones were the Gengar ones) and I will probably keep buying these Hori split pad compact controllers if they keep releasing them with new colors/patterns. (oh and I guess I should mention the little connector thingy that lets you connect the controllers to each other and directly to the Switch dock so you can use them detached from the Switch. I have only used it once, I am not a fan of it, but it does work and there are no problems with it, I just prefer to use the controllers attached to the Switch in handheld mode.)
I’m a big time PC gamer but I wanted a switch so I could play games with my daughter since she loves her switch and she’s not old enough to have her own PC. This thing is great. It also came with a free game, and it gave me the choice between 3 games. Pretty awesome because the game I got is normally $50 and this Switch+Game package was only $10 more than the standalone switch package. I love it so far.
Wow, I must say that I am impressed with this controller overall, it is on my top five list for controllers especially for the cost. The button presses are superb for ABXY presses, the thumbsticks are as smooth as butter - a little softer than first party, and the triggers all feel great. Direction pad is top notch for fighting games. Back buttons are fantastic, they press easily and are located exactly where my finger wants to press. The face of the controller has a nice smooth finish, back has small texturing to help the grip but does not feel rough using over a length of time. Weight feels on par with an elite controller and did not have any creaks or odd noises during use. The charging stand is easy to use, set the controller on it. Within the charging stand there is the wireless dongle also so you only have to plug the charging dock into the computer to easily use everything. You can store three profiles in the controller for what the back buttons are programmed to do (you need to download software for this though - I could not find any way to change or map the back buttons on the controller itself which is one thing I really wish was included). I would absolutely recommend this controller for anybody looking for a more premium product, and I am certainly going to let my friends know/test it out. They really knocked this one out of the park especially at this pricepoint!
It’s a very unique game. I had quite an experience playing it from my open copy. Sadly, the collector’s box is damaged and torn from one corner. Not sure if that’s the result from manufacturing or poor handling from transit. I’ve returned it and waiting for a credit refund. It’s a shame the collector’s box is delivered in poor condition.
Mostly all the buttons that are on the controller your using are on the wheel itself, the only thing is that some of the functions that you would normally use on your regular controller doesn’t work on wheel. For example I have a game called Driving Essentials which is a driving simulation game and everything in the game I’m able to control with the wheel except for when I want to look left and right! I did try it on another game and I had the same problem, the only way it works is if you have your controller on while using the wheel, so you can drive around with the wheel, the brake and gas pedals work perfectly and when you need to look left and right you can use the right joystick on your consoles controller and still have the wheel operating at the same time, hopefully the way I described it makes sense but other then that I love it and it really makes most driving games feel real and I’m super satisfied with my purchase!
The included code doesn't work unless you set up a new Switch profile and account saying that you're in Hong Kong, and if you buy any DLC from the eShop it won't work unless you spoof your location as well. The entire case is in English and doesn't say anything to let you know it's region locked. So when/if you buy any related DLC, it won't work and greedy Nintendo will refuse to refund you and then laugh at you repeatedly. The game itself is mediocre at best and doesn't bring anything new to the series. It's a perfect example of why this series is no longer active. Same game as all the others with nothing making it stand out among them.
PROS: IT IS MARIO PARTY! Many new challenging mini-games. They requires some skill due to the motion controls now not as many easy wins. This could obviously change over time but with practice but for once everyone who didn't grow up planing Nintendo games has an equal playing field. On the surface it seems just like every other Mario Party- with less board options. However if you explore there are any hidden gems. I really enjoy the partner party and the versatility. I appreciate that Nintendo gave me a logical reason for owning 2 switches with mini-games, not in the party, that require two switches. (Pictured) I love the special dice for each player and buddy team ups. CONS: It is long. I thought no way can 10 turns take up the estimated hour. It does. 10 turns isn't long enough to have a game you are satisfied with. Just when things are getting good, you finally are close to a star or you are given several items. The game is over. The longer board times are ridiculous and realistic. 20 turns for 2 hours? There are 5 party boards, and only 3 unlocked to begin with and they are tiny boards. Megafruit Paradise has roughly 50 spaces at most. Whomp's Domino Ruins has about 54. I don't have the official records on me. I however do not believe that many of the Mario Parties were this short. No way was Boo's Haunted House 50 spaces and if it was I never looked at it and said wow this is pointless. Maybe they need better pictures if games are always 50~ spaces. you look at board selection and are underwhelmed. 4 players even with 2 systems. I understand why but no pro controller. Just the itty bitty controller and no other options. If you are out and about you can't really play. They should consolidate a section of free play mini-games into controller selection. Many could be played with a pro controller or as a handheld because they use only buttons. I love it, my kids love it. I missed Mario Party and was tired of N64 and Wii/U games its been decades, I love the variety now. I hadn't broken out my switch since beating BOTW DLC in both modes. So it's nice to have a game to play with the family and its never the same. There are a lot of mini-games I have played 3 parties and 1 partner party and have yet to play the same mini-game twice.
Box arrived in good condition for me, packed with some books and 3d puzzles I'd ordered with it. Buffalo plushie is adorbs as all heck, instantly love her. Has teeny little care instructions in her plastic sleeve, too. Poster has pretty good color on it, particularly noteworthy since its a fabric poster and not paper-printed. It seems to be polyester fibers of some kind, a little plastic-y, so don't think safely ironing this will be for the un-intiated, it's not gonna do well in heat and would probably take spot-washing. But it's a great extra for commemoration, and definitely will be hardier than a paper or posterboard equivalent for the long-term. Very happy with everything-- I've been playing Story of Seasons since the very beginning (the SNES one, iirc?), and I've always loved it. Some of my favs have been the Peak classics, like N64 and the various incarnations of Friends of Mineral Town. Love Olive Town so dang much, it's my favorite yet. The characters have so much more life and detail and diversity to them than ever before, the story and game progression are much more natural, and also come around a lot more organically than Stardew Valley (which is, ofc, also incredible). Even the map design is player friendly, easily accommodating any of several various options for making the "rounds" if you're in town, shopping or socializing or what-have-you. There's a minigame festival and a social festival both, for each month/season, and a few other minigames to discover too. Playing it is a joy, even as my To-Do list around the farm eternally keeps getting longer and longer. Will give this hardcopy of the game to my younger cousin, who has found they also like these kinds of games. I got the bundled version straight from the eShop, so I wouldn't have to wait for shipping and so that I could get all the DLC bundled together at a discount. They'll be releasing small bits of additional content via DLC about once a month near the end (starting end of April), up thru to the end of August iirc. Hope this review helps someone! o7
Just got this today for my son, everything is good he loved it the only issue i have is that the case looks like it has glue on it but he loves it! Other than that we have no complaints
This was more expensive than other copies because it is supposed to be Steelbook, but it came in a basic plastic shell with nothing else. Go buy the cheaper listings because you will not receive what has been advertised.
15 hrs if you want to finish the main story (I don't have more time, I have a lot of other games to play). Excellent design, the sound is really good, and generally a really good choice for people that love the Metroidvania games with a Souls atmosphere.
I'm really loving this game, and I was afraid I wouldn't because JRPGS are as hit or miss for me as farming/life sims. And this game is both of those things blended together. But all the elements work well and are fun without being overly complicated. While not cutting edge, the graphics, art style and world are utterly beautiful to immerse in and explore, and the music is among some of the best game music ever, fully scored, sumptuous, beautiful... right down to a soothing classical guitar piece that plays during the evening. I was initially put off by the relatively fast pace of each day (about 18 minutes long) and trying to fit in all I want to do each day, but it actually is long enough for a varied set of experiences each day and brings just enough urgency to what would probably otherwise meander. The story so far is a little superficial yet still engaging. The "amnesia thing" JRPGS are famous for is here, and it's fine.... but there's also another character that's confused as to how they came to this world, though we do learn quickly she's a time traveler from the future. Dialogue varies from serious to utterly hilarious (an early conversation with a pompous unicorn had me rolling.) There's no voice acting though, and it would have been nice to have had it. Still, as a Zelda fan, I have long been used to big immersive epics with just text dialogue. I might as well mention (a lot of discussion about it on Reddit) that some players are bothered you can select "male, female or non- binary" but regardless the character is still the same feminine-presenting or female-looking character, it just changes the pronouns game characters refer to you with. I thought it was cool and different and don't mind playing as a feminine character, but if someone is super angry/political or bigoted around gender diversity and presentation... it's worth knowing about up front. And now I'm going to go play Harvestella some more, a world and soundtrack so beautiful that my wife likes to hang out and watch while I play... the first game like that for her since Zelda: Breath of the Wild. If you like Animal Crossing, Zelda, Stardew Valley, JRPGS, or Squaresoft in general, pick this one up. It's unique and a real gem.
This game had so much potential and is crippled by bugs and frequent crashing and bugs. Hard to enjoy a game when your worried about losing progress in the dynasty mode. What a shame.
This is a significant upgrade from the already excellent and value priced F500 V2, and more easily customizable, from all of the interior components to the faceplate art (Mayflash’s site has helpful templates for making custom art). But even if you don’t intend to mod anything, it still offers SANWA parts in the most important areas (stick, buttons). That said, my only gripe is the weird filing cabinet color for the body, which is far less preferable to almost any other color out there. Fortunately a friend of mine swapped the body for that of an F500 V2, and then modded virtually everything else, right down to replacing plastic washers with metal ones, replacing the default stick with a metal Seimetsu, 3D printing an octagonal gate for pinpoint accuracy when playing 2D shooters, and upgrading the springs under the buttons for superior feedback. He even did a custom etched dustwasher for the bade of the joystick. This is all to prove the point of how endlessly customizable the F500 Elite is. TLDR: Excellent arcade-style joystick right out of the box, but can be made far greater with a little modification.
The best AR/VR experience so far, hands down. If you are a Mario fan, this is a must have. Don’t overthink this... you won’t regret.
