   So I’m probably going to be in the minority here because a lot of the other reviews are positive for this and I will start talking about the overall fit/finish of this controller but then come to the shortcomings. First of all, I am pretty sure this is built off the same molds as the older XBOX One/One X controller as the fit and finish of the outside matches it perfectly. The button layout, etc. are pretty much spot on. The charging dock matches perfectly and is a great addition to the controller for just quick, charge between sessions. Charging of it, it says it has a 1000 mah battery but mine took quite awhile to charge to full the first time, nearly 5 hours. But once it was charged I was able to get a total of 7 hours of play time out of it with the RGB turned on using Bluetooth. The BT chip on the controller appears to be a later BT4.0 or early BT5.0 chip as it has ok range but falls off after about 20 feet, but there is no crosstalk with other BT devices. The dock supports a 2.4 GHz dongle for PC play but no where was the included so I cannot even say if that works. If you advertise it, include it. The charging cable that comes with it is a bog standard cheaper USB-A to USB-C charging cable and will be fine going from your console to somewhere easy to charge it. Tested it on the Switch, Linux PC, Windows PC, MacOS, PS4, Android – all of those allowed it to connect without much issues with the PS4 occasionally disconnecting while using it which means I would not say it is fully functional there. Android also seemed a bit wonky as it was not always detected in every game that normally my controllers are detected. The buttons are ok all membrane and it appears they were honest about the Hall Effect sticks as they have a fairly low error rate. The video shows it working with an XBSEX, it does not (plus again it shows the USB receiver which was not with it). It also indicates it has back buttons, it does not. The RGB is pretty tasteful and easily adjusted. The triggers and bumpers are membrane as well but a little bit grindy when using them. Overall I would say this is a good controller but not great. I would not chose it over some real other contenders out there in the price bracket it is in. If it was a bit lower in price, I could recommend it but not in the current market with all the higher quality offerings at the same price point.

   This wireless controller is a quality, premium controller, with some amazing features! The buttons and sticks are tight, precise and feel very solid. And I love the LED lighting! The LED modes are a lot of fun and I’m enjoying all of the options! The controller has the ability to change its settings, using an app you can download. And it has a lot of options, so the manual is a must read to get the most out of all the options. The Hall effect sticks are really interesting, with no stick drift! And, amazingly, you can change the stick’s deadzone, ON THE CONTROLLER, or by using the APP! And since I hate stick drift, this is a very cool feature for me! In addition, the controller works on my switch, PC, with the included USB adapter, or wired. And also with Bluetooth, Android and IOS. So it works on whatever you want to use it on! Also, the USB-C charging dock, USB wireless adaptor and USB-C cable are very nice add-ins. The Dock fits nicely and has its own LED light. And the controller lights up when charging. In addition, the USB PC adaptor fits inside the bottom of the dock, which is a very nice feature. But it fell out when I opened the box, so watch out for that, when opening the box for the first time. Also, the manual says it has the ability to change button function, with the app, so I’m looking forward to trying that out. It also has Turbo functions and multiple vibration settings, as well. In addition, I noticed that when changing the vibration level, on the controller, you need to hold the shoulder buttons and trigger buttons, until you feel a buzz on the controller, which will get stronger, or no vibration, depending on the setting. The manual also mentions ZR, ZL, as well as R and L, which are on the controller, but not listed that way in the manual. In conclusion, I’m very impressed with this controller’s feel and response! I tested it with multiple games and it felt and played great! From Borderlands 3 to Skyrim, I had alot of fun with it! And with it’s great feel, quality and amazing feature set, this controller is a winner, all the way around! I highly recommend this controller!!!

   We gave this Switch controller to our college aged daughter to use with her Nintendo game and she’s been using it with her laptop for a week now with absolutely no complaints. She reports that the unit is lightweight, versatile, bright and portable. The reaction time between the controller and the game response is almost nil – it’s fast and reliable to the touch. The controller has a long charged life. She has been using it after dinner until bedtime to wind down (after studying and homework is done, of course) and says she has never come close to the charge running down. The manual says it should stay fully charged for 12 hours after a 3-hour charging and I don’t think a college student should have 12 straight free hours to play, anyway. (Or am I just a bright eyed optimist?) Of course, it also comes with the nifty looking charging base so you get everything you need. Our daughter reports that setting up the controller with her established Switch system was easy and fairly quick. She was up and playing in practically no time. I suppose all this synching stuff is practically second nature to kids nowadays so it should be just as easy for any other youngster too. Besides complimenting the controller’s lightweight and flashing “neon” lights, it is ergonomic and very comfortable to hold and to operate all the buttons. This allows for fast and accurate play. Our student is only using Nintendo Switch but the game is apparently compatible with a number of other gaming platforms. I know practically nothing about gaming platforms but she has informed me that a player on many other platforms should have no problem synching this up for use. All I can add is that it looks pretty cool with all the lights and the sleek black design and it would make a perfect gift for any gamer. And, as a parent, I have to say that I was pretty impressed with the relatively low akiya-switch.com price point – especially with the optional 15% akiya-switch.com coupon (at the time of this review) to make it an ever more attractive purchase.
