   Item works fine enough, but it is a lot to actually have to deal with for a device that is meant to transition from stationary to portable. Despite that, the $70 asking price is insane, this isn’t worth more than $50 at most and even then I think that is pushing it. At best this is a novelty item or for the laziest person in the world.

The build quality is passable, but it does feel a tad cheaply made. It’s functional enough, though, so no major complaints there. One thing that could use improvement is the base. It feels a bit too lightweight for my liking. When you go to unplug your Switch, you have to be careful not to accidentally lift the whole setup along with it. A heavier base would definitely help keep everything in place. Also the game switcher requires it’s own power as the dock is just two part lodged together. so you will need to take one of the usb port on the dock to plug the gamer switcher in. Kind of messy as long as you don’t mind that. Despite its minor flaws, this gadget proves to be a handy addition to any gaming setup. It streamlines the game-switching process and provides a convenient docking solution for your Switch. Plus, it’s compact and portable, making it easy to take on the go. It’s a solid choice for Switch owners looking to enhance their gaming experience.

Like any gaming console with physical cartridges, it’s annoying to have to switch out the game cartridge every time you want to play a new game. Nowadays, there are more digital game options available on new consoles, but call me old-fashioned, I still prefer physical cartridges. That’s why when I came across the Unitek dock for the Switch, which not only stores up to five game cartridges but also allows you to switch between four of them with just a push of a button, I was really intrigued. The docking station itself is pretty small right out of the box. It’s about the same width as the screen, with the controllers hanging over the sides. I really appreciate its compact design. On the back, there are five cartridge slots, four of which can be used, while one is just for storage. Additionally, there’s a 4K HDMI port, an ethernet port, and three USB-A ports. Setting up the docking station was actually quite easy. There’s a little part that you flip up to expose the USB-C port that connects to the Switch. Then, there’s a flat cable that wraps around the back of the Switch and plugs into the game cartridge slot on the console itself. Now, here’s the weird part about this dock: you have to provide power to the game switcher piece. To do this, you use the small USB-A to USB-C cable that’s included, and plug it into one of the USB slots on the back of the dock, and then into the power slot on the side of the dock. It’s a bit hard to explain, but basically, one of the three USB ports on the back needs to be used to power the game switcher. This still leaves you with two USB ports, which is great because you can use them to power your pro controllers. Using the docking station is easy, but it does have its quirks. Once you’ve placed the Nintendo Switch on the dock and connected the cartridge cable, you have to physically get up, walk over to the Switch, and reach around the back to press a small button on top in order to switch games. It’s not too difficult, but it can be a bit inconvenient. It would have been much better if there was a remote to cycle through the games. On the bright side, the button on the back changes color depending on the game slot, so if you remember which color corresponds to which game, you can see what game is selected. But again, the placement of the button is behind the Switch so you cannot see it unless you get up and walk over to it. The design on the front is a bit odd. There are two lights on the front, one in the shape of a circle and the other in the shape of an X. Unfortunately, in my experience, these lights never turn off. Personally, I find this to be quite unnecessary. Despite these minor drawbacks, I am overall quite satisfied with the Unitek Nintendo Switch docking station. It’s incredibly convenient to be able to switch games without having to rummage through my Nintendo storage and pull out the cartridges. The only downside is that it makes it a bit more cumbersome to unlock the Switch and use it as a handheld, as you have to remove the cartridge cable. However, this inconvenience is minimal. If you’re looking for an easy way to play your Nintendo Switch on the TV and switch between a handful of games, this docking station is a fantastic solution.

   contacted the company. they told me it doesn’t come with the dock. which it doesn’t say anywhere on the ad.
   I even offered to purchase the remote from the seller. the sales person i was talking to. was no help and
   refused to sell me one. kind of useless when you have to go to the dock to switch the game. that was the whole point of the remote. i don’t recommend this seller.

    Great working dock, and I think the coolest thing is that if you don’t use this dock, you can use the game switcher with the original dock. The dock itself works great though, I like the way it looks compared to the original dock which covers the screen which I think looks odd. The ports work well, and I get good charging speed and ethernet speed out of it as well. The dock is literally game changing, putting in the games I’m currently playing is easy and now I don’t have to constantly grab a game, put it back in its case,a d swap out the game, it’s just easier now. The price is a little high in my opinion, but the game switcher is a really cool feature. Overall I like it, it works well, and again I think it looks better than the original dock too. 10/10 rating so far!

    What I really like about this unit is it solves a major problem that some other cart Switchers have had in the past. That if the power goes out. The Switch will stay on from it’s battery but the card switcher will go out with the power acting like the cart just for pulled out of the system. This unit here has a battery backup plug in extra power slot, to prevent this issue entirely. Very cool. Just need a backup battery. This docking station makes for a good replacement or 2nd TV hookup. Nothing is really better than Nintendo’s setup but this one is easy enough to plug in and have the TV in docked mode. The cartridge switcher works great to easily go back and forth between 4 games. You get the 3 USB ports and it’s really nice that there is the built in Ethernet port too. The one major thing missing from Nintendo’s dock. Now this is really only practical if you don’t use handheld mode very often. Since, you have to unplug the switcher and undock the Switch to get it in portable mode. Not too much of a hassle. But not quick like the official dock. And there isn’t that added screen protection here either. All and all, this unit is solid. Folds up nice and portable. A good alternative docking station if you just don’t have the original. Plus, with a few extra bells and whistles.

    Cool little docking station. Connects to the TV so I grabbed a Bluetooth controller for when my daughters uses it on the TV. Nice how you can quickly change between games by the flip of a switch. You can plug multiple games in at a time and they are all ready to go. Awesome little product. I can highly recommend it.
