   This device has been an excellent way to rotate games without having to swap them out from my Switch, which has been a lifesaver. Only complaint is the light on the device randomly turns on even when it’s not in use, but can be solved by placing something over it so the glare of the light doesn’t bother me as much. Purchased it almost a full month ago, and it’s still working great~!

   Well for starters it doesn’t come with a manual at all just a thing to scan that is supposed to take you to one. It only took me to their website to buy more things. You would figure that you pay this much for something they could spring for a manual. Anyway, I tried to work it and it’s not working so there u have it.
   

3. Setup, Issues, Testing, and Review of Unitek Switch Game Card Reader Verified Buyer – 20 February 2025

   I went into testing this with a certain amount of trepidation because I’d been reading reviews of other game switchers by other companies and they all seemed to be buggy. So far, I haven’t had a single one of their problems with this switcher, I am happy to say! This four-game switcher needs to be powered by a standard USB-A outlet, so I plugged it into the port on the side of my OLED Switch dock. The cartridge cable was plugged securely into the cartridge slot of the OLED Switch itself. I put the OLED Switch into sleep mode several times, and never once did it exit me out of the game while it was in sleep mode. The game switcher did not bring the OLED Switch out of sleep mode on its own. Once the OLED Switch console was turned off, it stayed off, the game switcher didn’t turn it back on again. I also lifted the console briefly out of the dock (while leaving everything still hooked up) and encountered no problems when I set it back down. (Some of these things may sound like strange things to test but they were problems that the other game switchers had.) There was an equal one-second lag both when using the button on the top of the device and the remote. The remote worked with the lightest of touches, so if your game does not switch right away just give it a second before you try again. Holding down the remote button for a long time is the equivalent of pressing the remote button multiple times. The color of the LED light around the button the top of the device changes to indicate which game slot is currently being used, and also serves as an indicator that the device is currently being powered. The one thing I did NOT test is to try switching from one game to another while a game is currently active. This is the equivalent of ripping the game cartridge out while there is a game currently being used, which causes the console to throw errors and the Switch manual says you should -never- do. So, be careful where you store the remote and make sure no pets can perch on top your docked Switch while you play. It’s much easier for them to get to the game switcher button than it is to get to the recessed power button. I was also able to power the game switcher with a 10,000mHA power bank without problems but I am not sure that I would recommend this since having the power run out would be the equivalent of removing the game cartridge from the running Switch which would be A Very Bad Thing. It uses so little energy, though, so if you’ve got a good-sized power bank with a digital readout you can keep an eye on, you should be fine using it in situations where you don’t have access to a powered outlet. If I had one suggestion for the future, it would be to make the top of the game switcher out of semi-transparent plastic so we can see what games we have installed without having to take them out and see. I am so happy to have this! It works perfectly, and I look forward to getting a lot of use out of it!

   this device doesn’t sleep with your console, which means that sometimes your switch will think you’ve inserted a new cart when you haven’t, waking it up, and if it’s docked, waking up your television or swapping input. this would be a smarter feature to have implemented

   There’s a whole bunch to like about this thing and just a little bit that could be confusing at the beginning. First of all, you have to use the existing slot on the switch so you are expanding four out of one so you have a total of four available. That’s just fine. All of the slots have a real nice clicky feel to them, which is also very nice. It mounts onto the switch stand really nicely too. If you have this installed in a compact place, it may not fit. Connecting the USB power to the stand was also a breeze and it works flawlessly. Switching between cartridge slots with the remote is a breeze. You do need to go slow about it though. If you try to blast through them, it’s not going to work as you expected it to. Just take your time switching them. You’ll get the hang of it. The only thing that’s confusing to me is really the colors. It’s not a big deal so I’m not going to say anymore about it. The remote is actually quite nice. There was no pairing process. All I had to do was start using it. This is a cool little gadget and I strongly suggest you get it if this is something that you need.

   I like the convenience of this. Only issue is I have to remove the adapter when I’m done or it keeps my switch awake and my TV keeps notifying me that it’s available on the input it’s connected to. Other than that, it’s nice.
