   I love this game but it’s not for everyone. It’s a very suspenseful resource management game. It is a very difficult and time consuming game. The cool part is that you can customize the seasons and the characters you play with. It takes place in an area that has been torn part by the war and people are trying to survive by searching for food and medical supplies all while keeping up morale. I like this game better on the switch because it’s a good, “play anywhere” game.

   If I could give 0 stars I would. I received my package today with a slit cellophane package, pulled out the game box, no game cartridge inside…. Registered to ‘return’ due to missing parts? What am I sending back, an empty container?

   Very poor controls, not intuitive, and not easy to learn. This game has a lot of potential but it’s hard to play which makes it boring and frustrating.

   Very cool concept and unique game. But honestly.. one my first play through I kept dying. Never could make it to the end. I think I played it like 5 times and I had to keep restarting. It’s not a long game but I thought it was cool.

   I hate games that don’t let you do anything, that don’t explain how to do anything, that give you a lame, frustrating premise with no reason to like the one character you are able to control. Commands are not intuitive, and you the game punishes you for making mistakes. Literally everything makes your character tired and depressed, which in turn makes you tired and depressed as a player. Simple actions like digging through rubble take minutes of your time, and you as a player just sit and watch a circle load above your incompetent character. When you finally get a chance to leave the starting area, people can shoot at you from off screen (you have no weapon btw) and if you die, wait another 2 minutes to load the next day. Before you know what’s happening or why you should care, you’ll have spent hours of your life you can never get back. There are excellent survival games out there with more interesting characters and gameplay. Stay away from this one.

    If you’re like me and wanted ALL the expansions for This War of Mine, including the workshop for making your own stories, this does not include it.
    It’s extremely complicated and difficult to play on the switch as opposed to the computer or an iPad. Players used to the controls may not have as hard a time, but I wouldn’t be surprised if even hard core players were frustrated.

    That said, this is an amazing indie game that is definitely worth playing, just maybe not on a switch.
