   So to some this isn’t a big deal, but it’s a major pet peeve of mine. The listing for this product shows Gnarly Tree Rex in the original packaging, and no where in the description of the product does it say anything to indicate that’s not what you’ll get. However, when it arrived, it was just the figure and the card shoved into a flimsy plastic bag, which was in turn shoved into a box. As a result, while the figure is in fine and usable condition (although one of his horns is ever so slightly bent out of shape), the collectable card is bent so badly there’s no possibility of saving it. I haven’t actually tested to see if the figure works properly with the games yet, but I feel a bit cheated thinking I was buying a never-opened figure only to instead get one with its collectable card bent almost to the point of being creased.

   Myself and my kids really enjoy this variation. Both of my kids love the character Tree Rex from Skylander Giants (he came packaged in the original Giants game). This way they can both play as him as the same time (one plays the original Red one, the other this Blue variant). I like him the best out of the Giant characters because of his nice Area of Effect smash when there are lots of enemies, charge when its a big enemy, and laser cannon for when the enemies are far away.

   I would highly recommend this Gnarly Tree Rex as the Giant to buy if you are new to Skylanders and bought Swap Force and are looking to buy a Giant to unlock those extra treasure boxes (that seems to be the only thing Giant specific in Swap Force).

   Overall: If you don’t really care for Tree Rex or have him already, there is no need for this variant. If you like him and like blue, or if you are new to Skylanders with Swap Force and are looking to buy a single Giant character, I would recommend him.

   I orginially thought that I would not be able to get ahold of this variant for this skylander character, however started to see these pop up in stores randomly. This is little more than a variant, and unless your a completionist is not really required however I have fallen into endless loop of trying to purchase all of these characters that I can find and it is definately nice to not be tied to a specific store chain when looking for variant characters. Additionally there has been plenty of these to go around at least for now so no reseller upcharging currently.

    My son is almost 4 and OBSESSED with skylanders, we live in a rural part of Saskatchewan and its very hard to find skylanders.     I ordered Tree rex as a gift for my grandson and received eyebrawl with some stupid pumpkin head on it the bar code said tree rex but the weird thing is it says eyebrawl in big letters all over the package in plan sight hm w ow what can you say he opened it and got the one he didn’t want but be such a good kid he didn’t complain but you could tell was hurt now I have to tell him ive got to contact akiya-switch.com and take that game figure from him to send it back to get the one I originally order and he wont under stand of course but in a few weeks he’ll get the one he wanted.maybe

    Price was better than retail stores and my son loves having this variant of Tree Rex. He was so excited to see it offered since before it was only with the starter pack for the Wii U (or it could have been the 3DS). Either way, he has the Playstation 3 version, so getting another game was out of the question.
