   Received game and did not open it as it was for my daughters birthday gift. She was so excited when she opened it but I noticed that it was missing the music CD as mentioned in the description. I am sure my daughter would love the game but I rated it 3 stars due to missing CD.

   The game did come with the CD Soundtrack and came a few days before the delivery date. The game works beautifully! Was the price too high for this game? Yes I would say so, but I will not give this review 4 stars because it came in as described, brand new and sealed, CD Soundtrack. As I mentioned, it came in sooner which is a bonus. I did risk this large sum of payment because of the other reviews saying there was no CD. But I got the CD! 😀

   Unlike River City Ransom where the protagonist’s girlfriends are taken away which sets them off to an adventure to save them; River City Girls have their female protagonist’s boyfriends taken away Story starts off with the girls receiving a text during detention. Pic in text shows their boyfriends captured. They break out of school and save them. This game has more backstory on the characters and there are voice acting for every character Banter between characters are really good The game is a 2D beat em’ up with RPG elements. Weak attack, strong attack, block, run jump, and assist. You can use weapons you pick up off the ground. Assist: some enemies will beg for their lives, you press the L1 button to recruit them. Each enemy type has different moves. Assist ability is on a cooldown. RPG elements come in as you level up, purchase/eat different food items from shops, and purchase equips from shops and enemy drops. There are some grinding involved to get past some areas/bosses If you get knocked out or defeated, you re-spawn to last area, but also lose in-game coin or cash which could be used on various shops in the game. You lose more coins each when both characters are defeated in co-op compared to playing solo Boss fights are creative, but mostly comes down to pattern recognition Very fun co-op. Much more fun with another player. Can be too easy at times as you can revive them when knocked out by stopping on them as there ghost flies away to wake them up to 100% health. Can totally be abused to speed run/breeze through the game. Hit detection bad. Stomping revive ally doesn’t always work, and some combos don’t always register if enemy move a bit from frame line There are some awkward platforming segments, where you have to make pixel perfect jumps Music in this game is amazing. Excellent OST Ending of the game is pretty lame, but had fun getting to it. Unless you’re a collector, best to get the digital version of the game as it’s much cheaper

   It sucks how many good games are coming out now that are digital download only. I was really glad to be able to snag this (thanks Limited Run). This is a pretty good game, but it’s on the difficult side.

    It’s like the old good days of beat ’em up with little of RPG elements that you can find on some Kunio Games.
    Graphics are superb, gameplay-wise too is an experience that don’t bores you and is quite entertaining, something that some beat ’em ups suffer on the long run, but this one has the variety that mitigates that factor.

    The item itself is precious, I initially will buy the Asian Version, more cheap besides I don’t need the Sound Track, but then after hearing some tracks + the foil cover of the Limited Run version growth on me and I end paying premium price for this (shame on me that I decided 1 month later and the price go up 40 plus dollars, but I don’t regret it, is totally worthy for my collection.

    I bought this and received it within two days. So fast. It came in perfect condition. However, it was missing the soundtrack CD. I contacted the seller and they responded right away apologizing saying it doesn’t come with one but akiya-switch.com says it does by default. So they asked if I wanted to return the item for a full refund or keep it with a partial refund of $15. I choose the partial refund and they gave me my refund right away. Jo was so nice.

    Regarding the game itself I have played 2 hours worth of it now and it’s extremely fun and entertaining. The characters are well designed and the game runs very smoothly on the switch. This is for sure one of the top games of the year.
