Really loved R-Type Delta from years ago. However I find this game endlessly frustrating and quite unenjoyable. When you get to something new, all of a sudden, zap you’re dead. Something came out of nowhere and got you. So you have to constantly die and remember what came from where. Then you have to wait as the game stops, faffs about and resets to an earlier point. The gaming flow is too stop start. It completely misses the point about smups for me, they should be fast and fun. This game just does its best to be frustrating and slow. The endless customisation does not make the game better.

The developer and it shows from its exciting level design and art style to the many ships you can unlock and customise I personally think this is way better than all the other shmups I have played on the switch thus far best of all it’s full screen on my oled switch so no irritating borders like the others. I strongly recommend this game to all shmup fans this is definitely a hidden gem.
