It is fun and innovative. However, unless Nintendo offers affordable replacement parts and cardboard then I would not recommend buying Labo. The Variety kit is a little more forgiving but both Robot and Variety Labo show wear quickly. I know, it is made of cardboard and it will show wear. I anticipated it would. I wasn’t prepared for the excessive wear or for one piece completely breaking within 2 hours of finishing the build project. I was able to repair the breakage with tape but do not see the whole cardboard apparatus surviving more than a month with normal use. The kids are 6 and 9 and not rough with the kit. It is plain corrugated cardboard. It just broke. Wish it was reinforced somehow. Hopefully Nintendo anticipates this problem and doesn’t leave the customer with a useless game cart because they don’t offer reasonably priced replacement parts.

Fantastic toy for nintendo. Keeps kids engaged. We already have two of those, which allow uus to battle agaiinst each other. Building it was a lot of fun.

Unless your kid is super crafty and semi intelligent, you may lose them for a bit with this but man is it a lot of fun to put together as an adult. It literally takes about an hour and a half maybe more depending how quick you are. My children lost interest pretty quick mostly because they had no clue what it would become at first glance. It’s literally a box of cardboard cutouts…until you start piecing this sucker together into a masterpiece. The game walks you through every step of the way and the instructions are often times hilarious. The look on the kids’ faces once it was completed was priceless and well worth my time on the living room floor. Nintendo has created something truly special here. I will say however that it is definitely just cardboard and would hold up how you would expect. With that being said, if you’re careful it will be fine and from what i can tell will last forever unless someone steps on it. If you’re really creative, i’m sure you could add to it and reinforce with stronger materials and truly design a robot of your own! I will definitely purchase more Nintendo Labo!

At the beginning, it was very fun to assemble and try in the games. but that only last maximum 2 days, because there isn’t much fun from the game itself. Develop more games using this Robot kit, please! Otherwise I don’t know what I do with this kit.

We have loved this! Such a great idea – fun to construct and great to play. My 6year old asked for this for his birthday and has had hours of fun with it.

The robot takes a while to put together, but it is like building a huge lego. My son was able to see how the various pieces worked. I would say the Robot Labo is a STEM kit. It comes with a game that has great replay ability. I argued with my brother-in-law about this game cause he was like…”why would you pay $60 for cardboard!” Well it comes with a game that normally would probably cost $60. Then the “cardboard” makes the game a much cooler VR type experience. I would buy it again, but it will take 1 hr minimum to put together and if you don’t put together things often it may take more like 3 hours. It is time well spent in bonding with my son. Thank you Nintendo!

Got this for my 9 year old’s birthday. He asked for it. It requires some building of course and then he showed it to me how it works and it is pretty cool. You build the cardboard section and attach the strings to arms and legs with the game on your face helmet. When you move it shows you moving in the game as a robot. He asked for it and likes it. It is very expensive for something that I am not sure will stay together or not be torn apart or misplaced by other kids but he loves it.

Do you love spending hours putting together a video game? Because that’s what you’re in for, following all the instructions putting together each piece. Then calibrating the suit once its built in order to even get it to work on your kid is the best part! I am glad I spent the $60 to become the most irritated parent on the block. I’m giving 4 stars because once it was all said and done, my kid loved it, and has talked about it for days. Which is all I can hope for… but for the none tech savvy, the parents who don’t want to spend the time it takes to get this up and running. Look for something else. Also… the noise… the box bangs around each time your kid takes a step because of the levers and parts moving inside of it. So be prepared.
