Really got into this game. Very frustrating, and sometimes extremely difficult, but fair for the most part. Id recommend it to anyone into ‘metrovania’ type games. I was sad after i beat it. 9.5/10 definitely worth the bucks.

Coming off the heels of Blasphemous 2, I was hoping for more of the same: solid Metroidvania with a decent story and some great bosses.
The story here is alright. It’s so out there in every respect, much like the souls games, that it’s often hard to follow, but is meant to give some reason as to why you go from place to place. In keeping with souls like games, everyone must be miserable, and they are so big check here.
The bosses were fun. They were varied and challenging.
The gameplay was sleek and fluid, more so than other metroidvanias. It really felt like it was tweaked to the perfect level, that is, until about halfway through… I don’t know if this is unique to the switch version, but my game stutters, often when there are large enemies on screen. In a game where death is punishing, you can’t have that. Straight up unacceptable. For that what would have been a perfect Metroidvania was largely ruined and I can’t recommend it as it is.
