Legend of Kay is an action/platformer. Unfortunately, the quality of the game feels average at best. The control scheme can’t be remapped, which makes combat more difficult than it needs to be. The camera can drift behind background objects, making the platforming parts more difficult than they need to be. And while the soundtrack is quite nice, the voicework is cringeworthy.
Don’t get me wrong. This game isn’t bad, it’s just that there are better options in this genre on Switch.

this game is fun for kids or casual player and is a remake of an old game thats why i remove a star. you have mini games to do and some adventure with goals to achive. it can be hard for young player at times and you might get trapped if you cant do the challenges. the price was good so i recommend if you never played this game and want a small fun game but dont expect too much from it or you might be dissapointed.

Il s’agit d’un remake du vieux jeux Legend of Kay. Des heures de plaisir.

The Legend of Kay is not a great game but its not terrible either, the game could use some improvements

Cute but cheesy, clunky controls, slow movement, too tedious to be that fun.

An amazing game. Great soundtrack with beautifully ‘ancient styled’ Chinese music. You play as a hilariously sarcastic Kay, a cat armed with an ancient sword(or claws&shameful), who journeys to restore peace to his clan, and save the world from the tyrannical rule of the gorillas. The side quests are refreshing and actually fun to. There is only one bug I found, and it’s avoidable. It’s when you jump on -jumping pots marked with a single Chinese letter—you stumble into a grey screen, and the game starts to make pig noises for some reason, lol. It’s also when you try to wall jump during the tutorial (you can pass the wall jump tutorial and continue with story). However, any other time, wall jumping is fine. I hope they fix this bug so I can see what was up at the top of the wall, but other than that, this is an amazing game. I haven’t had issues with it since. If you want a challenge, I recommend playing on Nightmare mode. It is sure to give you one. Even with the bug, since it’s not story breaking, I can still recommend this. Graphics look really impressive for a remaster.

I grew up with this game when I was a kid with a PS2. It’s great to play a childhood memory game on the go on my Switch. Looks and runs great, but the gameplay is dated and sometimes repetitive; still enjoyable.

Ignore what all the other people are saying. If you’re nostalgic and like old ps2 games with bad voice acting, (Prime Example: Samurai Warrior Musashi), You will love this game. It is mediocre AF, bad voice acting and plays decently well. Music is repeatedly annoying over time. If you’re getting this game with the intention of it being really good on similar standards with the games out now in 2020, you’re gonna have a bad time. With all that said, I’d say it’s worth it for the nostalgia.
