   I was really concerned reading through the reviews because it seemed everyone has the same issue with button mapping in the Switch. I bought this for my Switch because the official Nintendo one is always out of stock. I’m happy to report that this does work well for switch! You need to set it to “All Star Mode” and not “Legacy Mode” like I read in some other reviews. The buttons feel nice and don’t stick. Just a surprisingly good product.

   It’s not perfect though. I’m using it exclusively for Switch, and there are drawbacks. For one, I have to set it to “All Star Mode” each time I use it. Also, I cannot turn on my switch with it. So I have to use my pro controller or Joy-Cons then go to Controller to change the controller order to make this player one every time. That’s a bit annoying, but after that it works fine. No real signal issues yet.

   Once I am able to get an official Nintendo one I’ll keep this for a good player 2 controller.

   I got exactly one blink from the controller LEDs when I plugged a USB cord in to charge it. After that it didn’t seem to take a charge, would not connect to either the N64 or Switch adapter and could not even be picked up on my PC when connected by either the Switch USB adapter or with the USB cord. If I could give it a negative score, I would. DO NOT BUY.

   I love the idea, they work great but there is no way to configure x and y buttons which are needed for most of the games that I like to play which sucks because I can’t really use them for the switch because of it. Unless you just want them for Mario kart or just for your 64 or Nintendo e online to play 64 games, i recommend not to get them. But if those are the games you play most of (64 games/ Mario kart 6) then I give it a thumbs up 👍

   I have both receivers plugged in, to the pc and to the n64. When I turn on the controller, I hit the reset button if I want to switch between the two. There are buttons on the dongle and the receiver that will help if you get stuck. The n64 receiver has a switch to use either memory paks or the Rumble feature. I don’t think you can use both the Rumble and the memory pak at the same time though. Still 5 stars, no more cats eating my wires now Update: I’ve played a few games on the n64 that don’t play nicely with the controller. Like Command & Conquer, every so often it decides its gonna move the cursor down and to the left in jumps. Then it would stop and start again randomly. I’m just gonna have to play it with a wired controller. Still 5 stars tho

   While I haven’t tried it on the Nintendo 64 yet, I can say it works great on the Switch. As others have pointed out, holding Start + A for three seconds puts the controller in All Star Mode, which emulates the original N64 mapping perfectly on the Switch. Unfortunately, there is no Home button to turn on the Switch, but simply pressing the power button or Home button on a joycon while the Switch is docked is enough to turn it on and then the N64 controller does fine from there. Overall, very impressed. So far it only has about 10 hours of game time on it, so time will tell how long it lasts.

   This controller synced up to my Switch right away and also the review ls that people have said about it not working for the N64 games on the switch cause the button mapping socks. Well they need to pay attention to what other people have said to make it work for N64 games. I had no issues with this controller from day 1 so far. If people would just look and read directions properly they would understand and figure out how to make things work the way they are advertised to work. Instead of complaining saying it doesn’t work when you didn’t read directions or listen to the instructions on how to make it work how about pay attention to the information given to make sure it works before given a bad review on something that doesn’t deserve a bad review.

    I was super skeptical about this product, but decided to purchase it anyways. When it arrived, the packaging was in wonderful condition with a minor ding on a couple of corners on the packaging (carrier issue so seller may consider finding a way to secure the product in the box). Instructions are clear on how to pair and get it set up. The only issue I had, was not knowing that you had to have the Pro Controller Wired Communication turned on in the settings. I also found out that if you use your joycons to turn on the system, make sure to change grip/order in the controller settings so that the usb controller is first. I really enjoy this product, thank you.

    The controller itself works fine out of the box if your using it on an actual N64 (haven’t tested it on my Switch yet) the build feels decent and it has an alright weight to it my only problem is that the wireless receiver that it comes with does not read the Transfer Pak so if you were hoping to use your Pokemon Game Packs on Stadium 1 or 2, unfortunately you’ll have to have them plugged into another controller which limits multiplayer functionality in those Games. As far as input delay goes I’m not a true expert but I did the totally scientific Chansey Egg Emergency test and felt no noticeable delay so from my own experience I’d say it passes.

    Was able to connect just fine, you plug in the USB dongle. Make sure that you use Pro Wired Connection and turn it to ON. This will detect the USB dongle. The button mapping works with most games. I like the overall feel of the controller, not like the original but it gets the job done.

    Sensitivity is pretty spot on, I think they could adjust it a little more but had no real issues. D-pad is pretty nice, was able to use in platformer games (SNES/NES Classic) and didn’t have any misreads.

    Overall, recommended controller for the N64 enthusiast!
