   This controller is very ergonomic and is very easy to hold for long playing sessions. Very comfortable. The buttons and joysticks respond flawlessly. I have heard some reviews that mentioned one of the joysticks sticking, but I haven’t experienced that. It’s easy to set up and use. RGB on the main buttons and joysticks is just enough; any more would really be overkill. Seems to be well built and can take some abuse. I don’t think you can do better at this price point.

   PROs: – The larger controls feel SO MUCH BETTER than the standard Switch controllers! I used to feel my hands start cramping after playing the Switch for an extended period but no longer with this. – The LED RGB are bright and can be dimmed. – The 4 extra game slots and a great feature and the games snuggly fit in those slots. No worries about them slipping out during trips. – I was worried without there being a top side latch, that the console might accidentally slip out of the top but it fits nicely and that is no longer a concern. – It is not advertised on the product description nor the product pictures but I feel like it is a very big piece of information, which is that there is a USB-C charger port on the bottom of the controller. So you don’t have to worry about the Switch getting low on battery and having to pull it out of the dock to charge it. It can be charged directly in the Pro Controller dock! CONs: – It’s an RGB (Red-Green-Blue) and there’s literally no stand-alone red. There’s only rainbow, pink, teal, green, blue, purple, and yellow (which looks orangish in the pictures but look at the pictures) . I love the green and blue but disappointed that there is no standalone bright red especially since one of my consoles are red even though the product page gives the appearance that there is a bright red. – It can be a little difficult to remove your current game while docked in the Pro Controller. OVERALL: It’s so tempting to think this is just another accessory, I don’t need an instruction manual. Well, me being me, I flipped the accessory switch to SW LED, plugged in my Switch and nothing. I thought maybe it might be defective. The item page even shows an image in large print stating “Plug and Play” BUT you do need to perform one step by going into the System Settings, scroll down to “Pro Controller Wired Communication” and turn this feature ON first. Once that was turned on, then I slid the console into the Pro Controller holder and viola, everything worked as advertised. Myself and my wife are finally thrilled that we can comfortably play on-the-go now! It would be nice if the buttons had some backlighting Pro Controller function buttons had some backlighting but once you know where they are, it really isn’t an issue.

   Well, it’s pretty cool. I’m not an RGB fan but I was playing Amongst the Sleep and set the controller to dim blue and it was like ambiance. I have an oled switch with an extremerate atomic purple shell. So it was a tight fit into the controller and the usb port was slightly off but I think that was because of my shell swap. I normally use hori switch pads but I don’t like how loose they feel in the joycon slots. This controller is very stable.

   When playing my OLED Switch with the Nintendo J-cons I find that my hands get tired and I frequently inadvertently click the upper shoulder buttons. Quite annoying when this happens during a boss battle.

   With the Kickdot controller, both of these problems are gone. The grips are comfortable for long sessions.
   The larger buttons with increased spacing minimizes mis-clicks. Great stuff!

   My only minor nit is that the color settings need to be reapplied each time I wake the Switch.

   Other than that, I am quite pleased.

   Bought this for my son. He likes it, and the Hall Effect on the thumb pads should keep this thing going longer than most joycons. Not being able to use his Amiibos doesn’t seem to bother him, either.

   The Nintendo Switch has become one of the best selling consoles of all time, but it is not without its flaws. I am not talking about graphics limitations, or lack of 4K because honestly the games I play on my Switch don’t need that. What I am thinking about is the way my hands and wrist begin to hurt during medium to long play sessions while on the go. The Joycons don’t offer any ergonomics and the grip is awkward. Enter the Kickdot controller. I have used a number of various cradle controller options, and they all have their benefits, and they are all more comfortable than just using the joycons. However this cradle controller focused on all of the right things. First, most notably is the kickstand. Many of the other cradle controllers lack the kickstand. It’s an easy oversight, but one that I found myself wanting more and more. RGBs in the right spots. Backlighting on the keys. Others have RGB in unnecessary locations (like bars off the edge of the screen), often times shine right in your face, creating distracts, etc. The RGB is used sparingly, and right. The face buttons (A,B,Y,X) are backlit and glow nicely. The game cartridge holder on the back is in the perfect spot. The games click in nicely, and don’t fall out, even if the controller is turned upside and shaken. This little design call is ideal for the gamer on the go. Take your favorites with you, and never find yourself bored. USB-C passthrough for charging is great. You’d be surprised at how many alphabet soup companies sell a cradle controller without a USB-C port to charge the Switch. Easy to program turbo keys, and easy rumble toggling with cyclable button presses. But the most notable, award winning decision in the design goes to the Hall-Effect joysticks. Truly, blows my mind that many companies will produce anything without hall-effect joysticks given how wide spread stick drift has become, not just in the Nintendo camp, but PlayStation as well. The ergonomics of the design feel fantastic. Goodbye wrist cramping. The buttons all feel and respond so well! The shoulder buttons provide an especially nice click-y feeling and are easy to reach. In fact, the DPad on this is better than the official Pro Controller DPad. So what’s missing? Honestly, if something was missing, that means I would be wishing or longing for a feature. There are no mappable buttons on the back of the controller like many tend to include, so no macros. But I really never cared for those anyways, so I am not missing them. The only thing I could think of maybe wanting randomly is Amiibo scanning. But it’s so seldom I use that feature, that I really wouldn’t use an amiibo on the go anyways. So at the end of the day, this has everything I could want. This product really enhances the Nintendo Switch’s experience. I now find myself laying in bed playing more. I can’t recommend this product enough. 5/5

    Had this for two months now and I love it. I initially gave it a 2 star review as I thought my left bumper died but it seems there was just something stuck in there. Got it loose and it works like a charm again! Very ergonomic, not heavy, and extremely durable. Highly recommend!
