They tried to work the color scheme from the GB into the Xbox form factor for the Nintendo switch, adding motors to it so it would feel nice, and triggers for those games that support them.
It pairs up to the Switch and PC just fine, but some PC games don’t register all the buttons: you’d press X, Y, or A, trying to blink or jump playing 9 Parchments and nothing happens. My other controllers are Logitech PC controllers for PC or they’re actually trying to be Xbox controllers and they don’t have that problem.
After using the Switch controller, for years, the form factor took some getting used to for me. My hands would cramp up holding it.
The motors are huge and polling the triggers drains the battery. Nintendo controllers don’t appear to have them and they last longer. I turn off the vibration whenever I can, and I don’t have any games that really need the trigger functions.
So providing little extra function, this 3rd party controller is the one that has to be recharged often, and the others don’t. This is also the one PC controller I have that doesn’t work with every PC game.
