Tyler Verified Buyer –
I don’t like writing this review but I’m not sure where to go for support. I bought the original dock nearly 3 years ago and it’s stopped outputting video. I’ve tried multiple cables, usb 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 and thunderbolt, as well as multiple hdmi cables. The dock won’t output an image to any tv I connect it to. More strangely when I plug a hdmi cable into it the dock stops charging the switch. I understand this is outside of the warranty window but I wouldn’t expect a failure like this through normal use or age. Just like I don’t expect any of my other computer docks to fail after 3 years or any of the usb dongles for that matter.
Additionally I wasn’t going to leave a review until I saw on reddit all the countless other people experiencing the same thing. Seems more like a design failure than anything else. If you’re looking at this product expect to replace it every 2 years.
