   The game is what I expected, I’m sure it will be great . However the case was mangled bent almost like someone was trying to make a Mobius strip out of it . First time I’ve ever run into this issue ordering games from akiya-switch.com . Really couldn’t fault the game though and it did get to me in working condition hence 3 stars .

   I did not have the satisfaction of playing the original version but when I heard a remake was coming I jumped on the opp to it and wansnor disappointed. I am always looking to try something different when it comes to video games. Live A Live was a pleasure to play, the style of the combat is unique and the graphics are great. The characters are quirky and the various abilities will ensure that you progress through the game you’ll have more opportunities to make your own experience more unique. I think this has become one of my favourite games.

   Unique game from decades ago brought back with a new coat of paint and modern quality of life features. Not the most difficult game and not intended to be. It has many different characters and settings that all seem completely unrelated, but stick it out and everything comes together. It’s hard to list any other JRPG as a point of comparison because this really is an experience all its own. The story isn’t the deepest, but it’s still a chill feel-good game. Bored of Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest? Give this a spin!

   First off, someone posted a review saying they couldn’t play this in North America because it is European Pegi version. That is incorrect, and actually prevented me from buying this for over a year. The Switch console is NOT region locked. It can play physical Pegi rated games just fine with no problem. I bought my Switch in California and still live there, and this plays just fine.

   The game itself is retro heaven, blending the best of old school rpg design with modern HD 2D graphical advances. If you ever played any SNES rpgs and loved them, or Octopath Traveler, you’ll love this game.

    Game looks good and movement in the overworld feels good. The combat system is interesting and fun to play and the stories are great too. The characters are all voices in either English or the original Japanese and the translations are mostly accurate (aside from the occasional odd choice of translation, which doesn’t affect the enjoyment of the story).
    Overall a great game to add to my collection.

    As a side note the bookmark that was bundled in is pretty underwhelming, literally a strip of thinly laminated paper. At least it was effectively free.

    Underappreciated Gem-if it arrives with the game.
    Made the mistake of buying a new copy of this from akiya-switch.com-came in a akiya-switch.com bag with damaged case, artwork, and no game. Label on the outside of the bag said “new item” though it was not. It’s a great game, underappreciated in its time so this is the best way to play it. Don’t miss out!
