   Some reason I recieved the eu copy instead of na which is fine for the most part considering from what I’ve seen all physical copies can’t buy the dlc for the game which is a shame considering

   Recibí la versión PEGI, confiado de que recibiría la versión americana.
   Llegó el sobre parcialmente abierto pero la caja y el juego estaban intactos con el celofán.

   Al abrir la caja se encontraba ahí la tarjeta de juego y sus contenidos bonus como las tarjetas con ilustraciones y el manual del juego, pero una pestaña llegó rota y desde el interior se nota que la caja aún está más dañada.

   El juego afortunadamente funciona y tras una actualización, pude acceder al DLC y todo está sin problemas.
   Mis detalles están meramente en el estado del producto.

   The game Deathsmiles I&II I never played the series, ive known of it for quite a few years since it was released on the 360 back in the day, well I decided to get the game and try it out, since i loved playing Shmups/bullet hell games as a kid never got good at it. but the artwork within the game and gameplay is amazing, plenty of choices to decide on the difficulty you want to play the game in so its very freindly to new players to the genre. from what i can tell it comes with the arcade versions of the games as well which is a plus for me, if i am correct it was not in previous releases? correct me if im wrong. but I do recommend giving the game/series a try if you love bullet hell games.

   Played 1 on the 360 a lot and I think number 2 was only a japan only game. So having both on one cartridge is awesome.

   So this release itself is good from a technical perspective, according to Electric Underground, these games only have 4 frames of input lag on Nintendo Switch (which is decent for a Shmup on this platform). I also received the proper US version with the ESRB logo on the box and the Switch cartridge. But the problem lies with the Nintendo Switch not being able to recognize this physical version as the DeathSmiles 1&2 (digital version) on the eShop. What this means is that if you wanted to play the $25 DLC with additional characters, you would not be able to do so without also buying the digital release of this game. This is ridiculous and I assume it’s the fault of the publisher. I think they used the same game files across all regions and I suppose the Nintendo Switch recognizes the cartridge as being from a different region. So it’s possible that if you made a Nintendo account linked with Europe or Japan, you *may* be able to get the DLC that way but it currently does not work with the US eShop.

   The game itself is excellent and DeathSmiles 2 is pretty rare and not available on Steam. The artwork is beautiful and this Shmup is more forgiving than a lot of Cave’s other games.

    akiya-switch.com typically packages games in a bubble mailer only so they will sometimes arrive bent, damaged or broken. Game is good but case and artwork were damaged due to poor packaging.

    I played these games originally on a Japanese Xbox 360 over 10 years ago and was so surprised. I always passed deathsmiles 1 up in the import store when I saw it because it looked strange, but I took a chance one day and picked it up and wow it ended up being one of my favorite video games ever. The soundtrack and art style and gameplay are fantastic. Check this out if you are into shmups, this game will not disappoint. Support the physical releases, it was super cool for them to put this out for Switch and PS4 in the west and it really deserves more attention. Still one of my favorite games from the past decade. I hope CAVE will make a part 3.
