This game is one part visual novel, one part turn based JRPG.
Overall, I’m only in Chapter 2, but fully emerged in unraveling the story. An orphan is sent to an isolated all girls school, where she hopes to find her long lost sister. Instead, she finds a town with an after dark curfew that is overrun with monsters once night falls.
Cons:
Controls; It took some getting used to the dungeons, as the character controls feel very uncontrolled and loose. Once you get used to it, it’s mostly just navigating through a maze to get to the next objective.
Voice acting; while it’s fine itself, the school scenes aren’t voiced at all, only the cut scenes, and it can make the game feel disjointed.
Cliches; Rottie, your adorable roommate is a kid, and she has a crush on you. It gets old very quickly, as does the cliche of all the girls having crushes on each other. At some point you just roll your eyes.
Overall, I wish they had skipped the cliches and voiced more, but the controls are something you adapt to after a dungeon or two. It’s the story that made me want to stick around to the end.
