I’ve been playing this game for a few hours now. I play on the switch lite, my console is a few years old (2021)
When playing this game I did encounter some glitches on the screen. But nothing that hindered my gameplay. However when I press A to do things, sometimes I have to press it multiple times.
The FPS was fine for me, and I didn’t get any sort of lagging, or the game just freezing on me. At least for now.
However:
The game does need improvement, especially quality of life updates, but I didn’t let that stop me from playing. The graphics are beautiful in some aesthetics. In others it comes across as very particle and noisey. Especially with some of the movable trees and greenery. Like it just looks off.
The pink tree takes me out the most, it looks very out of place game quality wise. And overall doesn’t fit the “vibe” of all the other plants. It’s not because of the type of tree is. Rather how it’s rendered into the game. The leaves are noisey and jagged.
The overall aesthetics can be a big muggy and not very vibrant at times. The rain is literally just tiny white lines passing down the screen. From afar things can look rough but at closer view it’s better.
Optimization is definitely needed in some areas. Like when you turn and pan it may be really slow. And even changing the camera turn speed up in settings it’s still kinda slow.
How you access your bag, taking things in and out can be a bit confusing. Like I can’t tell what I have selected or not. If the icon was bigger or highlighted differently when selected it would be easier to tell.
The point of view of the gene is all in third person. Which I’m not used to playing but I’ve been getting accustomed to it slowly.
~Gameplay~
As you progress through the game you’ll have a grasp of the gameplay itself. I’m playing story mode as they are two modes to play. That and creative mode. I won’t spoil anything but one of the plot points really took me out of the immersion of the game.
There’s the garden you can go to, as well as the town. As you progress you’ll unlock other things like the pavilion. And you’ll have access to things like a craft table, a book that has every flower you’ve obtained thus far and how to care for them. You have the necessary tools for gardening, as well as can buy flower seeds and other tools and decorations from a shop.
The way you make money in the game is based on “flower orders” townspeople will request things like crafted bouquets and flower clippings. And once you finish a certain quest you get to have a stall in the town. Where you can sell flowers there too.
The flowers grow back fairly quickly so don’t be afraid to trim them for orders or crafts. You can also make fertilizer with the dirt you gather, and put it in the compost.
You can get different colored seeds when you grow flowers sometimes too. That’s how I got pink colored roses.
~Final thoughts~
If you want this game I suggest waiting awhile. See if there’s a sale on it, and especially wait for more quality of life updates. I paid full price and was just shocked at seeing those glitches in game. I provided a video with the glitching happening. You’d think they’ll have this figure out by now as it got a switch release. And the full game came out in February it’s now April. I expect more improvements will be made, as people critique and discuss the game.
Overall, I love it so far, yes it’s relaxing, yes you can mindlessly play this and destress. The sound design is pretty as well as the music. There’s actual voice actors being utilized and the art style is pleasing to the eye.
I’ll continue playing it and maybe update my review if need be.
Also note: that the images are a bit blurry because of the switches’ screenshot quality. It’s not a representation of the game. It’s a lot more crisp than it seems in the photos.

Like I said in the title, I loved the idea of a garden simulator and from the trailer/advertisements for this game, I was so excited to purchase it! I bought this game for my switch and was extremely disappointed with the graphics. Based on the trailer for the game, I assumed it would have more crisp and vivid graphics, but it was sadly lower quality that I expected. I also found it difficult to navigate and figure out exactly what to do. I gave it two chances, and I can’t bring myself to continue playing it. Highly disappointing for a game that had so much potential.

I’ve seen comments talking about glitches in game. I have had only one problem so far. An order that pops up and can’t be cleared. All of the other game play so far is glitch free. I’m playing on an OLED and downloaded software not cartridge game.
I really have been enjoying the game and wish there were more games like this. I haven’t had so much fun with a game since animal crossing during covid.

Looks nothing like advertised. Framerate must be 15fps, too small font in hmi. Full of bugs, do not buy on switch.
