I saw a review for this game on YouTube and knew I had to have it. The Switch doesn’t have the largest selection of 2D fighting games but this one is a must have for anyone who plays them or collects them. It has a fairly simple fighting system that makes it easy for people to pick up and play.

A whole cast of indie characters to choose from, game is really easy to understand and pick up. Online is a bit of a hit or miss though. Since it’s an indie title not too many are online at weird hours. Better on weekends and after work hours I’ve found one or two people to have a few rounds with. The story mode is campy, but reminds me of something like soul caliber 2 and older arcade story modes.

I pre-ordered this game based solely on some of the characters appearing and I was not disappointed. It’s one of the most fun and accessible fighting games I’ve played in a long while. The character art is great and the animation is smooth. There’s a lot of stuff to do here from Arcade to Story to Challenges and lots of new colored outfits and some extra characters to unlock.
The story sucks, but I kind of expect that in fighting games.
Veteran fighters may find this one too simple and shallow, but I really enjoyed it. I would recommend cranking the difficulty up a notch. I’m not really an ace at fighting games and I still found it a bit too easy.

I got this on a whim because it has Isaac in a fighting game! I’ve never really played a fighting game before, but this has been super intuitive, fun, and entertaining. A major advantage of the physical copy is that the instructions are printed out, and super useful to reference as you’re learning the moves for a character.
If you’re a fan of the publisher’s other characters, definitely check it out!
