   Everything is on the cart from the main games that were originally on the 3DS with all of its DLC, adjusted to work for the Switch.

   But what was not welcomed is that Day 1 patch. WTH?! Thought the devs had all their ducks in a row when it came to ports and definitive editions of their older games. Seems not.

   First thing to note is that if you have giant man-hands then you may get finger/hand cramps when playing in handheld mode due to precise button presses. Best to play in TV or desktop mode, preferably with the Pro Controller if you have it (joy con with joy con grip accessory works well also). Essentially the port of Azure Striker Gun Volt 1 & 2 from 3DS in one game cartridge. There’s slightly upgraded graphics and HD rumble. Graphics is more of a nice coat of new paint instead of a re-master, still have the 16-bit look and feel to it. HD rumble is not as pronounced, just present as the devs don’t utilize it to it’s potential. You do get all DLC fro Azure Striker Gun Volt 2, but only accessible when you unlock the true ending of the game. Not easy to swap between the games though as you have to go to home screen, close the program, and open again. Now lets go through the games for those who haven’t played them before. Azure Sticker Gun Volt 1: Has a Mega Man type feel to it. 2D action platformer where you defeat the 6 robot masters in any order. What differentiates the game from Mega Man is that there’s an RPG upgrade system and there are a lot of dialogue between characters during gameplay. There is no English voice option (only subtitles) so it can be distracting when fighting enemies in a fast paced game, and reading text at the same time; especially when it’s your first time through the levels. Battle system is also slightly different than Mega Man. You still get a gun, but there’s an electric AOE attack you can use for massive damage or unlock switches. . To do max damage on enemies with this attack you must tag or shoot them first with your gun. The electric attack is on a meter so you have to keep an eye on it as it re-charges overtime. You can also stop and double tap the down button, but it slows down progress and leaves you vulnerable to attack. If you fully deplete the meter (overcharge the attack), it’ll takes time to recharge. Aside from this, you get a dash and counter move (also uses meter). The game mechanics takes time to get used to, but overtime it becomes second nature You get parts or upgrades for defeating enemies, bosses and completing optional challenges. Which in part can be a grind as some are random drops. There’s also a level system where you get increase stats each time you level up Azure Stricker Gun Volt 2 is more streamline. More dialogue and story, easier in difficulty, has a new playable character Copen. You need to play Gunvolt 1 before 2 to enjoy the story as it picks up right at the end of Gunvolt 1 and doesn’t give you a recap. Gunvolt now has special moves that uses up a new meter SP instead of EP that can potentially do a screen clearing attack. Each special move also has a cooldown, so you can’t string together the same special twice Copen unlike Gunvolt has different abilities. He doesn’t have electrical attacks, but has a dash attack an enemy to tag them and do massive damage with his guns before touching the ground. Copen gun bullets is on a meter similar to Gunvolt’s electrical attacks. Copen also has special, but limited to two: heal and a one screen clearing attack Main campaign is shorter than Gunvolt 1, but has a more difficult rating system/challenges for replay-ability. There is Amiibo support for Gunvolt 2 as if you tap a Shovel Knight amiibo you can face against him in a boss battle Overall, if you own the game in the past it’s not worth it to double dip unless you’re a collector, or abandoned your 3DS. For those who haven’t played these games before it’s an excellent side scrolling action platformer that will test your twitch reflexes and quick judgement

   Aunque originalmente jugué estos juegos en 3DS, esta versión más reciente me pareció una mejora considerable por 4 detalles:

   1.- poder usar un control tradicional
   2.- Los dos juegos en un solo cartucho (los de 3DS los conseguí digitales)
   3.- jugarlos en una televisión
   4.- jugarlos a 60 cuadros por segundo

   Hay que tomar en cuenta, sin embargo, que gráficamente los únicos elementos que están en alta definición son los textos y los retratos de los personajes. Todo lo demás está estirado para abarcar la pantalla, y el efecto de pixelación es algo que podría gustarte o no, dependiendo de cómo lo veas (a mi gusto, el juego sigue siendo una joya artística).

   Si eres fan de Megaman (sobre todo de Megaman Zero) ni lo pienses, vale la pena.

   I love the little throwback style games to when I was a kid and this game bundle is no exception! The first game was fun and inventive. The sequel introduced a new playable character and fixed some of the, or at least in my opinion, control issues. When I played the first one the controller didn’t seem to respond as well as it did in the sequel. It could have just been that I was much better when I got to the sequel, but I doubt it. It could also have been that playing as Copen rather than GV was more my style. Either way this is a great bundle of games for the Switch, particularly if you enjoy a retro esque side scroller.

    A good game overall and if you can buy it when it’s on sale for $30 it’s definitely worth its value. If you’re someone who casually plays and doesn’t have the time to put in 100 plus hours in a game every week like other games than this would fit the bill. You could have a quick 20-30 session of trying to beat your personal best while still enjoying it. If you are a fan of Mega man games then this is a easy buy.

    Great game. It comes with all the dlc from the 3DS version and both Azure Striker Gunvolt 1 and 2. The controls are easy and simple to pick up. You pick your levels like an old Mega Man game but the challenge is good in an old-school 90s gamer “not going to hold your hand way” but not cheap or too hard to the point where one will want to quit unlike some of the old Mega Man games. The story is also better than most games of its type. I highly recommend this game.

    I played these on the 3ds and they mostly play the same here. These games have great characters, a good story, a bad ending and the bitter sweet ending. I recommend this to fans of action platformers, the Megaman franchise, and good games.

    Inticreates outdid themselves with these games and gave us some of the best high speed 2D action games out there. You can definitely see the MegaMan influences in the games (makes sense considering Inti’s work on the Zero and ZX series) but I feel it does enough different to stand on it’s own with Gunvolt and Copen’s tagging mechanics, j-pop, and the huge emphasis on score. If you like 2D action games I highly recommend checking this out! (although I will urge MegaMan fans to not go into this expecting a one-to-one MegaMan clone, if you do you will most likely come out disappointed, instead take it as its own thing.)
