The mindmap is not very intuitive so the experience was bad

This game improves upon the first in many ways. It’s easier and feels more natural to move Hercule around. Having the grey cells screen instead of some of the puzzling elements of the first game made the story progress a little more smoothly. The grey cells screen also helps you out by telling you when a connection can be made. There was a couple times when I completed everything I could see and was at a loss for what to do to make the story continue, but as the story is pretty linear that was solved by talking to everyone I could find and going in and out of every room. There’s not much repayability once you’ve solved the murder. I haven’t read the books, but I was expecting a few more dead bodies. Because of the shortness of the first case, the second one seemed very long. It made the pacing seem a little jarring. Ultimately it is still a rather short game. I did personally enjoy it, but I’m glad I got it on sale

Loved the game! I love Hercule Poirot and this was a great mystery to play. I was so into it I finished it in a day. Hope they make more stories into games.

I had a lot of fun making my way through the game. The mystery itself has some good twists, but the gameplay is very easy. The game requires that you interview suspects, but there’s little skill involved—you just advance through the dialog. You also must examine the scene for clues, but they are very easy to find.
The most challenging part is making deductions with the clues you collect, but after a few wrong guesses, the game highlights the correct answers for you. So really, this is less of a game and more of a story that unfolds a little at a time. However, as someone who loves to read mystery novels, I found the experience really enjoyable.
If you’ve ever played LA Noir, you might find this game to be a little similar—minimal on the actual game manipulation, with most of the focus on deduction.

I went into this game with no knowledge and was surprise by addictive it was. “Hercule Poirot: The First Cases” centers around, of course, Detective Hercule Poirot. As Poirot, you explore the environment, finding clues. Then you can talk to characters to get more information. With certain clues, you will access the ‘mind map.’ This is where you take the information and clues and matched them up for deductions. The mind map was the bane of my existence at the start. I recommend working on your mind map as soon you get deductions. If you let it go for too long, it is so hard to figure out what was the important clue.
The game was fully voiced by a great cast, except when Poirot was thinking to himself and asking a question. There was no lag. The loading times weren’t bad. The story was pretty linear but I did find the mystery still entertaining. Just check everything and you will be fine. I guess my only gripe would be how short it was. I finished it in about 10-15 hours. I wanted more.
If you are a fan of Nancy Drew, mysteries in general and visual novels, this will be up your alley. I would highly recommend.

It’s okay, fast game play. Not very mystery/hidden objects as I would like

This is a nice mystery game which uses a decision “graph” on how to get to the conclusions. Very often the graph makes sense, but often it does not. After a while it becomes apparent that the right answer is more in spacial location than in reading the text, which makes this a bit less interesting.
Here are a few things were actually not that great:
1. It was not cleat that one can zoom into the mind map and the text was even too tiny for a 80″ TV set without doing so.
2. Sometimes the app crashes or hangs
3. the graphics are not that great
4. Walking between rooms takes a lot of time and you will have to walk between them quite a lot
In general I would say that the game is too expensive compared to other titles, bit if you an agatha Christie fan this is possibly worth it!

I loved this game! It was so fun to play Hercule Poirot, and interview the other characters in the game. The settings were perfect and plots reflected a true Agatha Christie mystery. I hope they make another Poirot game like this one soon!!!
