Mycket bra.

I’ve been looking for a good retro controller for some of my retro projects. The market is full of cheap retro-system knock-offs that feel flimsy and do not respond well. I’ve been forced to use modern looking controllers or USB-to-Retro adapters but then I discovered 8Bitdo! They work amazingly well, and feel very sturdy. They seem to be plug-and play with most of my setups. Work with both windows and linux (I do not own a switch). They have all the functionality of a dual-shock (plus more) and look like an old SNES controller. They also have a nifty little set of lights on the bottom, to tell you what controller is #1, #2, #3, and #4, that is very helpful when using more then one on PC. I’ve already started replacing all of my good-ol’ reliable Logitechs. I have not tried the blu tooth yet, as I perfer my retro controllers corded.

love the feel of these
holding them, nothing quite like it, feels more retro or casual than a big ergonomic xbox-style controller that just gets warm and sweaty.
i think the fact it’s wired makes me feels even more like it’s retro.
buttons are slightly larger and flatter than most modern, more like retro. I love it, you’re not pushing a small bump into your finger, more confortable.
L2/R2 are not analog tho, if you needed that.
it has all the buttons and stuff, work very well for any games modern or not
easy compatibility for all my use cases since it’s USB

I wanted the wireless sn30 pro that is usually around $45 but I wasn’t sure if I would like the shape of it. I bought rhis one because it’s less but still said to br a good controller. 8bitdo is a great company and their products are definitely worth the money. This controller has an impressive build quality for the price. I wouldn’t recommend this as a primary controller for 3d games, however you definitely can. I played through Wolfenstein 2 and The Witcher 3 on switch with this and it’s comfortable but I just think the sn30 pro+ or switch pro controller would be a better option if you mostly play 3d games. It’s perfect for games like Mario Maker 2 and Celeste.

These seem like great controllers. They have a turbo function and seem well built. Unfortunately, they don’t work for the Super Nintendo Clone that I bought them for so yeah, don’t make the same mistake I did. I’m sure they work great for emulators and PC, or maybe even a retro pi, just not for the numerous clones you see on akiya-switch.com and Ebay. It’s not the controller’s fault though. Not at all. I just don’t want people to buy them with that in mind because for some reason, the USB ports on the clones are just for decoration.

I’ve picked up a small collection of off brand and some branded China-made controllers, and wanted to try something different. I’ve been using a usb SNES replica controller for 8/16 bit games and the shielding on the cable is wearing in till break point. I was in need of something better with good build quality and reputable feedback without breaking the bank. I received this next day delivery, and tested it on Emuelec 4.3. It registers as an xbox 360 controller which is good because its easy to map. Not only is it good for Arcade, mame, megadrive, snes etc it’s also good for PS1 emulation, source ports like PRBOOM. The vibration function does work but it isn’t that strong. It’s priced in a similar range to some mixed bag of controllers but this one has a premium feel. It’s the same size as the orignal SNES controller. Quality cable, quality d pad, the ergonomics and comfort are the two main selling points of the controller. It handles really well for a small controller. The analogue sticks are tiny but they respond well, no drift as far as I can tell. If you love retro USB controllers, you can’t go wrong with this 8bitdo model.

If you’re after controllers that combine a retro look and feel with modern functionality and solid build quality, these are a great choice. While they are wired, which might not suit everyone, I intentionally opted for the wired version. They offer better connection stability, especially when paired with a Raspberry Pi 5, and eliminate the need for charging. Plus, the wired setup enhances the retro vibe, making the experience even more authentic.
