1. 8BitDo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller Verified Buyer – 7 July 2024

   It’s true: this has the best D-pad on any Switch controller. It connects fairly easily to the Switch, and it feels very well built. But it’s uncomfortable for me to use. After playing with it for about an hour, my wrists, elbows, and shoulders started aching from the narrow posture the grips force my arms into. The first party Pro Controller has a wider stance and curves more into the palm of the hand. The 8BitDo is smaller and feels like I have to support the controller by squeezing it, making it fatiguing to play for more than an hour. You can see this from the more severe angle the 8BitDo Pro 2 forces the wrists into. Seriously, the stock Joy Con grip is more comfortable to hold. Never had this problem with any other controllers but 8BitDo’s (I’ve also tried the Ultimate and returned it). Skip their controllers if you have larger hands, and you find the first party Switch Pro Controller on the smaller side. Also, the back buttons can only be mapped to a single button press. You cannot map multiple button inputs to a single back button press. Defeats the purpose of mappable buttons for me since I wanted them for awkward button combinations in action games. Close, but I’d rather play with a Pro Controller with it’s mushy D-Pad and sticks that eventually drift. At least it doesn’t hurt to use.

   I like that it’s a controller at a great price and has a good grip, reminds me of the good old PS2 days. Got this because I didn’t want to spend money on $400 XBox controllers, didn’t disappoint. Well packaged, feels premium, cables have great feel, standard stuff. Bluetooth is a little wonky, sometimes it works sometimes it sucks. I recommend wiring the controller to your PC for the intended use of this device.

   You can also go into Bitdo’s website to download some customization for the controller and adjust sensitive of the joysticks. Nothing much to else to say.

   I’ve been gaming since I was a toddler and have been both a PC and console user and this is one of the best controllers I’ve ever used. Not only does it work with the Switch, PC, and mobile, but it also has great rumble, a turbo function, and hall effect joysticks which prevent them from drifting. It comes with a rechargeable battery pack as well!

   10/10 will be buying another one soon.
