   This little 4K upscaler has been great for my older gaming consoles. Setting it up waseasy peazy. I just plug in the HDMI cables and I was good to go. The difference in image quality is noticeable, with sharper edges, more vibrant colors, and an overall crisper look, especially on my 4K TV. I’ve tried it with my Switch, Xbox 360, and PS3, and it works great across the board. The only downside is that it breaks HDMI-CEC functionality, so I can’t control my consoles through my TV remote anymore. Still, that’s a small price to pay for the dramatically improved visuals. Great accessory for retro gaming fans.

   Easy to use and works, seems like a quality product, been using it with my switch, it won’t improve your graphics by any means but it does output to 4k with this and looks much more crisp than the standard 1080p output on a 4k tv, really makes the picture pop in my opinion, switch output looks great using it. Looks more crisp than it did before, pleased with the product.

   First of, yes this will give you a 2160p resolution on Nintendo Switch, older PS4s that didn’t support 4K, same with the first Xbox One and yes it’s worlds better on it’s own. Now add the Mclassic Adapter and you will also get that adapter’s other goodies making it the definitive way to game with your older consoles.

   This is an interesting product that attempts to upscale content for consoles like the Nintendo Switch. I was a bit skeptical if it could upscale 1080p content to 4k, so I gave it a try. Once I had the upscaler set up, it just worked. I noticed that the colors had a larger contrast. The image as a whole appeared sharper. The game did not seem to have any noticeable lag. The instructions on how to use this is clear, and reading the instructions is required to setting this up right. Before glancing at the instructions, I couldn’t get it to work. I learned I had to connect everything in a specific order and orientation. The built in HDMI cable plugs into the console, not the TV. The instructions warned of not using inferior cables. I like how it comes with its own 4k HDMI cable. This allowed me to use it with confidence rather than worrying if my cable was good enough. While games did look sharper, the sharpness did not look good. Content passing through this device looked like it was being played on a TV with its sharpness setting up too high. This caused artifacts on the screen such as thin outlines, contrasting shadows, and jaggy edges. On many games I felt like the graphics were worse off. Fortunately, the upscaler has an on/off button that allowed me to turn off the upscaling at any time. For the sake of comparison, I turned off the device and turned the sharpness on my monitor to its maximum setting. The resulting image looked better using my monitor’s built in sharpness setting than with the 4k View Pro upscaler. I tried playing through several rounds of Super Mario Wonder with the upscaling turned on. This exposed a significant flaw. At random intervals, the screen would blank out as if the HDMI signal was disconnected and reconnected. When I turned the device off, I was able to get a consistent image. However, when I turned it on, then at random times, the screen would blank for a few frames. This had a negative impact on gameplay. After running into this issue during bosses, I became frustrated and did not want to use the product. I tried testing this with my Steam Deck in order to rule out that there was something specific to the Switch causing this issue. The 4k View Pro also disconnected and reconnected at random times with the Steam Deck. In summary, this does increase the color contrast and does not have any noticeable lag. However, the lack of anti-aliasing and the issue with dropping the picture unexpectedly is a deal breaker for me.

    I decided to give this a shot with my OLED Switch and LG smart TV, but I was disappointed. I did everything right and was met with a black screen. I don’t know what the issue was, but for how much this is worth, it’s really disappointing. Maybe it’s just incompatible with my TV.
