   I’m really happy with my converter. It’s not the least expensive Bluetooth controller adapter you can get for PS2 now, but it’s just a really high quality device and I think it also looks better than the generic ones or the 8bitdo option which doesn’t look right on a PS2, being grey. I’ve played maybe 20 hours so far on a DualSense with my PS2 and haven’t had any issues. Highly recommend.

   I know it’s a bit simplistic, but it’s true: this thing just *works.* No complex bluetooth configuration, instead it just uses the native pairing systems of PS and XB controllers (either USB connection for PS or pairing button for XB) and works right away. It’s even simpler with direct USB controllers. Good condition PS2 controllers are getting hard to come by, and the modern Xbox One/X style controller is what most people are used to nowadays. This makes it absurdly easy to revive your old systems with a current controller. The only minor concern I have is that the long protrusion of the dongle plus any USB receiver can end up with a lot of weight pulling down on the controller port (see photo). I think a later revision of this would benefit from a spacer or support block of some sort.

   The controller works as advertised on the ps2, all buttons work but in the PC side (via USB), the ps button (mode button) does not work. The device stays blue, does not turn white while connected to the PC, only on PS2, so you can’t use all it’s functions on the pc side.. Firmware issue? If it is then it can be remedied. It does this on any controller at this point, official ps3 controller, official Xbox 360 controller. Otherwise it’s a great value to relive that ps2 nostalgia, while not dealing with wire limitations. There is a bit of lag but not impacting gameplay, I originally thought it would work with the 360 controller without the dongle, but that was wishful thinking. As for how it’s made, it can be very durable for the long haul.

   I tried 2 different adapters and neither worked. I tried connecting it to another usb port on the ps2 for extra power like other have said, doesn’t work. Tried to update firmware on my pc, doesn’t detect the adapter. Garbage product, don’t buy.

   Overall quite pleased. As of writing this I have only hooked up two controllers, but haven’t really had any issues. I’m quite pleased to be able to use my 8bitdo switch pro controller on my PS2 as it is quite comfortable and weighty. Original PS2 controllers are nice, but this is simply a step up, especially since it’s wireless! Feels and looks like a memory card. Keychain is also neat, but unnecessary imo.

    I enjoy the ability to use different controllers with classic consoles, so I ordered the Brook Wingman. The Wingman is small and easy to use. I connected the wingman to my PS2 and followed the instructions and it was working great in minutes. The ability to use Xbox controllers on a PS Classic or PS 2 is wonderful. I also had success with using a PS4 controller which in my opinion is much better than the PS2 controllers. I also tested the Wingman with one of my arcade sticks and it worked great. If you are like me and you get tired of hitting the button constantly in side-scrolling fighting games the turbo feature is a wonderful addition. If you don’t want wires lying around the Wingman provides the ability to use wireless controllers. I love this device and plan on getting more for my other consoles. I highly recommend the Brook Wingman for the PS2.

    I found my PlayStation 2 and these have allowed me to relive some of my best childhood gaming memories. They might seem pricy off the bat compared to replacement controllers BUT these will last you MUCH LONGER!! They are incredibly easy to connect to newer generation controllers and once you set it up once you’re good. So worth the money!!!

    Used this with my PS2, playing a few different games, most notably Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and Marvel vs Capcom 2.  I used my newest PS5 controller, which has no drifting issues or any other concerns. Connecting the controller was fairly easy.  Put it in pairing mode, press and hold the button on the side of the Wingman for a few seconds and they synch up.  The device and controller will still be synced the next time you turn on your console.  In the event that they’re not, a few seconds and you’re back in business. The device is built well enough.  It’s a bit thicker than your standard PS2 memory card(kind of funny there’s a whole generation of gamers who have never seen one of those).  It has two ports, one standard USB and a smaller port, for wired controllers in the front of it. Unfortunately with the PS5 controller(which is wireless), there is a noticeable delay that makes faster paced games an issue.  With Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, a 3D brawler where you move one of two characters with the analog stick, the delay was noticeable but wasn’t hindering gameplay entirely as the game is a bit slower paced. Now when it came to MvC 2 and Guilty Gear Accent Core, the delay was too much.  You need instant reactions in fighting games especially, and I just wasn’t getting that with this converter.  Distance from the receiver wasn’t a factor.  Right up in front of the system or a few feet back, same level of functionality. I was really hoping for better functionality here but it just didn’t work out.  Hopefully they can improve this receiver, as being able to revisit classic PlayStation,  PlayStation 2, and of course Nintendo or Xbox games with the PS5 controller is something most gamers would love to do. That level of compatibility is pretty nice, it just needs less input delay.

    This thing has problems and generally sucks for what it promises to do. If you’re buying this for an OG XBox and you want straight wireless you’re gonna have problems. It’s going to disconnect from your controller maybe every 5 minutes or so, or every time the console is loading or anything is happening. It doesn’t matter what controller you use either because I’ve tested it with a few, like a few generations of Xbox controllers and the switch pro, they all disconnect and they all do it at the same times. I will say however that this seems to work completely fine 100% of the time if you are connected with a cable. So if you are fine with that, which I am not not since I bought this so I can use wireless controllers but it doesn’t work so I just had to buy a 15 foot cable for my Xbox controller to connect it to this piece of crap that can’t do wireless but claims it can… Anyway if that sounds fun to you… Buy this.

    On a side note the other wingman adapters for the PlayStations work great. But this one sucks. But if you’re cool with a wired connection I guess this is fine but the product description lies. This sucks wireless.

    Extremely simple to use – just plug in any controller via USB and you’re connected. Straightforward light indicators to convey connection statuses, compatibility with every controller I own (including a leverless fight/arcade controller), and no noticeable input lag. Worth every penny.
