While the story isn’t the most original (deposed young prince must rally together the different warring factions of his fallen kingdom to overthrow the cruel warlord who overthrew his family), the game is still enthralling! The game is mostly an RTS (you sending out units of your forces to overwhelm the enemy within a short time limit) style game with JRPG elements (leveling up and gaining new abilities). You have to make story based decisions as well (do you let the enemy commander face justice for their actions or do you allow them to join your army after hearing their motivations), which do carry consequences. Their is a LARGE cast of characters in this game, all with their own distinct personalities (and well voiced by talented VO artists), and the main story does have nice twists. My only gripe is that it can get overwhelming keeping track of all your characters different strengths and how well they get along with other characters (characters get a bonus in battle the better they get along with each other). Also, I wish other characters could get married to each other, and not just the main character. Aside from these minor gripes, I LOVE this game!

Very good game, very fulfilling story, lots of fun romance options. Only downside is the autobattling over chosing who does what, but it can be circumvented through the in game set up if you spend enough time doing it.
