   I loved my gamecube, I loved the games on it, oddly enough I loved the controller. This wireless controller for switch allows me to relive some of those wonderful memories and experience gamecube titles on the controller they were meant to be on. I have no issues with connections or the buttons, the joysticks are great. I honestly haven’t found a single thing I don’t love about this controller.

   This is a rad controller to add to your switch arsenal. It’s styled like a Game Cube controller, and ideal for those that love to play Smash Brothers, but it functions for all games on the switch. I was able to connect the controller wirelessly to the switch and play immediately. Besides just being a cool nostalgic gadget, it works very well. It’s lightweight, but not too light. It does not feel “empty” or cheaply made. For me, it balances the line of being affordable without sacrificing too much quality. The controller feels very ergonomic in your hands and the buttons have good response time. They don’t feel mushy or cheap. Although the analog sticks are not quite as premium as an official Switch Pro controller, they still feel very good to me and did not give me any problems. Another feature I like is the power switch (where you thumbs won’t accidentally hit) that lets you switch the controller off, so if you store it away, and it happens to lean on a button, it won’t drain your controller’s battery like some other models I’ve had. The vibration also works great and has a good feel through the controller. It even has Amiibo support! (which is less common for 3rd party controllers) You can tell they put admirable effort into this controller. Some people may complain that they would like the quality to be even higher, but this would result in a much pricier controller. I think they did a good job balancing the quality and affordability, and I’ll enjoy having this as one of my controller options. I’d recommend this one.

   This controller is a bit of a mixed bag in my opinion. There’s some things it gets so right and other things not as much. Starting with the good however this controller is definitely better than I would have expected for the value. It is an incredibly accurate representation of a GameCube controller physically. The color and layout of the body and buttons is a true match. The octagonal outline of the joysticks provides that classic and nostalgic feeling. The size and feel of the mini sized c-stick is very accurate as well, and the triggers even feel the same. The device also charges using usb-c and I can’t say often enough how great it is to actually have a standardized connection these days. The gyro control compatibility and NFC reader are great additional features as well. In terms of look and feel this controller got everything right. Even when it comes to ease of use and charging it’s great. There are definitely areas it falls short though. For starters none of the buttons feel very good, they feel mushy and cheap, with the d-pad being pretty terrible though you could consider that to be an authentic experience compared to the OG controllers. The left joystick also sits a bit crooked as pictured. The way that you switch the connection modes is also terrible with certain modes requiring you press a pin hole button next to the charging port. I can not tell you the last time I had to deal with a terribly inconvenient and outdated pin hole reset button. Details like that aside my biggest complaint in the functionality of this controller comes from the connection modes. This controller works great when connected to a switch wirelessly and okay when connected to a pc through a wire. If you plan to use this for emulation on your pc you should definitely use a wire. When connected to your pc via wireless this controller nearly doesn’t function. I experienced tons of missed inputs, very noticeable input lag, and what pretty much felt like the controller disconnection periodically out of nowhere and then reconnecting. This controller is advertised as a Switch controller and that’s what you should use it for, or at least use a wire when connecting it to any other devices. While this controller may not be a great choice for wireless use with your pc or any other devices, it still makes a great wireless controller for the Switch and absolutely nails the look and feel of a classic GC controller. For the price it honestly could be worse and if you don’t have enough controller for your Switch when friends come over I’d recommend it. Since this controller does include motion control and NFC compatibility it makes a great second controller for the Switch with full function that a pro controller would provide.

   I picked this up mostly for the nostalgia of the old Gamecube “Wavebird” controller. Playing SSB with the Wavebird was one of the most enjoyable things of all time, so I wanted to recreate that feeling. And while this definitely has the look, it unfortunately doesn’t have the feel. Controls are inconsistent and even connecting via Bluetooth was a bit rough.

   If you’re looking for a display piece for nostalgia this is fine, as an accurate game controller this isn’t it. It works but not what you would need to be competitive. Great for handing to a younger child who wants to “play with you” but you don’t want to worry about damage to a nice controller!
