Tetris 99 is a great new way to play the game. Many different modes, hours upon hours of fun. Marathon mode lacks an infinite play option stops after 999 lines.

Fantastic game! I’ve been playing since release, and when I found out a physical version would be released I decided I wanted it. It’s the same game you get if you have Nintendo switch online, but it also includes the ‘DLC’ that’s sold for $9.99 and a 12-month subscription to NSO, which goes for $19.99. So, you’re effectively paying for these two features, and the physical cartridge is pretty much free (1 cent, if we want to get picky).

I love Tetris 99, and I love collecting physical games, so when I saw that I could have both, I got very excited. There’s not much to say about it, but it gets the job done. It comes with the DLC for Tetris 99, and it also comes with a year-long code for Nintendo Switch Online, which is a great service in itself.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is a much better option if you just want Tetris on the Switch, but considering it comes with a free NSO subscription it’s worth it. The bots are way too easy on the offline 99 player mode though. I haven’t got a single victory online, but I can win consistently offline without any effort. The other modes are ok overall but, like I said, Puyo Puyo Tetris is the better option for just playing Tetris. This is great for if you want a subscription and you also would like to have regular Tetris and you don’t want to spend too much money.

I’ve been playing the free version for a while and loved it, so I decided to shell out for the DLC. It’s a good deal – for the $10 you’d pay for the digital DLC, and $20 you would normally pay for a Nintendo Online sub, you can bundle it and get a physical edition! And unlike what another reviewer mentioned, you don’t need to download anything additional to play the DLC, I was able to pop it into the Switch and play the DLC modes immediately without any downloading.
I was also initially worried that it would have the DLC and subscription bundled in 1 code which would be a problem since I want to redeem the code later, but the DLC is all on the cart and the subscription redemption code on a piece of paper.
