All you need to know is that the BT-W3 is plug & play with the PS5. I used my Nuraphones with it and it was able to recognize the adapter automatically and enable the 3D Audio setting. I used the external mic included with the W3 on my Dualshock 4 Controller with my PS4 Pro and it was great to talk to party chat without having to plug in a headset with a dedicated mic. And this dongle works great on Windows 10 but not every headset will support native mic feature unless you’re using it in call mode. Only thing I would recommend is to unplug the adapter when not in use because it will automatically pair with your bluetooth headset everytime you turn it on. Other than that, great product.

***NOTE: THIS REVIEW IS FOR BT-W3 with APTX-HD support, NOT the older model*** With this device, you can use a USB to Lighting adapter on the iPhone and get APTX-HD support. (no “not enough power” warning on iPhone at all! Awesome) I have multiple headphones with APTX-HD including Nuraloop and Sony WI-1000X. BT-W3 supports all OS including iOS, Win10, and MacOS, and I have confirmed with Creative Labs that the USB interface is limited to 16-bit 48kHz with Win10, and that’s not so much of an issue for me. (see screenshot with Roon) It also can be used for PS4 and Switch with no issue at all, plug and play. One observation, it appears iOS+Roon detected this device as 24-bit 48kHz. (see screenshot also)

Connection took 7 min tops. Windows 11 recognizes my Sennheiser Momentum 3 as speakers however the audio quality is amazing. Clicking on the button lets you switch between different low latency profiles. My headphones have audio control buttons and this audio transmitter allows my PC to recognize/use all of the media controls on my headphones. Definitely worth the price for such a high quality audio transmitter.

I bought this for my Fiancé so that he could connect his Bluetooth headset to his PS5. Let’s just say it works great, you even say maybe a little too good as it connected to my Father-in-law radio upstairs and he was hearing all the game sounds when Apex was being played (gave him a lil fright 😅😂). It’s very small so you can carry it everywhere with you which is convenient for travel.

This Creative BT-W3 Bluetooth 5.0 RCVR/TRAN Sound Adapter is very easy to install. Just Plug-n-Play. I use them with my Creative Outlier V2 Sweatproof earphones (also purchased here @ akiya-switch.com) almost exclusively. Though you can use this BT-W3 Adapter with headphones of greater capabilities than the Creative Outlier V2. Battery Life: not applicable Since the BT-W3 Adapter plugs into your USB 3.0 Port (USB-C adapter incl.), the device, PC, powers it. Though the Creative Outlier V2 earphones last, on the average of 8-9 hours. I have had them on all day; exercising at the Park; until after bedtime connecting to different devices (phone, Kindle Tablet, and PC). – But that’s another Review. One last Note: I have gone outside of the house with the BT-W3 connected to my Outlier V2 and checked my US Mail, pick up fallen fruit in my backyard and still have reception. I wanted to use Bluetooth headphones on my Switch, but for some reason I can’t imagine, the Switch doesn’t support Bluetooth audio.

This device does what it says extremely well. You plug the headphone-style dongle into the headphone jack at the top of the Switch, and the bluetooth receiver into the USB port at the bottom. It works great, pairs in seconds and the sound quality is amazing.

Only gripe, and I guess you can’t fault Creative for this, is that the receiver sticks out of the bottom of the switch, so depending on how you hold it, you may push on it or knock it out of the port. Perhaps a small male-female USB-C cable would fix this, if you cared.

Otherwise, does exactly what I wanted.
