   I haven’t had this much fun dying since Duke Nukem and Quake on the N64 -which I have bought for Switch and love. But this game, this game offers a new game with the same experience and challenge. Damn this game is good! If you are an old school gamer, get this game. If you are new generation, get this game so you can find out how terrible most modern FPS are. This is how it’s meant to be played. Give us more please! Oh and I love the fact they included a readme. And it’s so worth buying physical because you actually get a real game manual.

   I’ll keep it short, if you like Duke Nukem 3D then you’ll like this. It’s a testament to how solid the Build game engine is that it can continue to be used for current era games. Does it have all the bells and whistles for a modern FPS? No. If what you’re looking for is a game that recaptures the feeling of classic DOS shoot’em’ups, then you could much worse than this. The Switch version includes gyro aiming too, if that’s your thing.

   Gaming has advanced so much since the DN3D era, but Ion Fury shows that old engines and mechanics don’t stop being fun just because they’re old.

   If you like pixelated retro graphics, fast fluid old school shooters like quake, doom, Duke nukem, do yourself a favour and buy this. It is in the ranks as one of the best old school type shooters in my opinion. Very fun, plenty of humour and charm and worth every penny!

   If you grew up playing DOOM or Duke Nukem then this will tickle your nostalgia bone hard. The game uses the same engine as the original Duke Nukem 3D, but with modern touches like better lighting and textures. One of the best aspects of this game is the sound design. Guns are loud, and feel like they have power behind them. Having this game in a physical form is such a treat. The boxart is nice, and it comes with an artbook. The only issue with this version is framerate, which mainly drops during a few bosses. It is not unplayable during these bosses though, and still a lot of fun. If you want a boosted framerate enter the Konami Code, no I’m not kidding.

    I would like to state that this game is a 10/10 for me, but the physical copy i got was NOT like listed, it did not come with an art book nor stickers, it was just a code slip for the digital game – which i already own, so i’m going to have to give this one away, what a shame, picking up the US edition instead.

    Honestly why sell physical copies that only contain code slips for digital versions? this would only be a problem for kids who don’t have access to a credit card, but this game is for adults, so why?… honestly this is so unnecessary.
