I’m only about 4 hours into the game but i’ve been having lots of fun with it so far. I could see it maybe eventually getting a bit repetitive if it doesn’t start to change up soon, but so far so good!

It is definitely not a child’s game, I really enjoyed played this, the story mode acts like a tutorial and the other mode is all about your custom character. Steep learning curve and the deaths are very detailed in horrific ways and love it, but not for children

Awful. Just awful. Words cannot describe how much I disliked this. Tedious and frustrating to say the least.

First of all there is a very long tutorial where you learn about the first season of the anime. At no point does it explain that there is no need to collect or do anything during this long process. And it is easy to die, especially since there is little to no explanation about anything. You can die by picking up something while mining on a cliff face. Does the character make a decision nope just picks whatever up and falls to their death. That isn’t bad though, you can’t gain experience, there is no point in getting money, your weapon doesn’t have durability, it is useless. Then the main story starts and if you thought the tutorial was messed up the main game is even worse. I got soft locked on the first mission! There is some kind of spawn rate glitch that is cycling way too many butterfly things at me just killing me super fast as I go up the wall. You can swipe at them, but you will lose too much stamina. You can let them eat you, but they can block you with their little bodies. Anyway I got softlocked because this game is glitch not very smooth at the best of times and difficult. There isn’t even a difficulty setting that I could find. The weapon durability is way too low too considering just how hard it is to get the materials for a new weapon. This is a trash game that isn’t ready to be released.

Tutorial is a slog but after that game is pretty good

This game really has some good points, but they are thoroughly overshadowed by god awful gameplay. It frankly feels like I grabbed a bargain bin game from 20 years ago. I was actually enjoying the game quite a bit before reaching the third layer. The gameplay cycle seems really well done, it’s a really unique and immersive experience, or at least it would be if it had gotten a single second of play testing. All the more rpg style things like crafting and resource management are fantastic. You really have to think about your resources, what you bring in and how you’ll make things as you delve deeper. But it all get thrown out the window when you’re forced to climb up massive walls for hours while getting one shot by flying enemies over and over and OVER AGAIN and restarting an entire hour you spent in a single stage. It wouldn’t be too bad if you could use the save system during these parts but they are for some reason disabled in many sections with no real logic to why.
Overall, I’d recommend it if you’re a fan of hardcore games and made in abyss while also having a huge tolerance for terrible 3D ARPGs. I’d almost compare it to the original Nier but frankly it’s way worse than that game with nowhere near as much story to make up for it.
